February 2008: A Month In Review

CalendarAnother fun and exciting month has passed, and the excitement just continues to grow as each day brings us a little closer to the birth of our very first child, Jayden! Only a little over a couple of months left to go, give or take a few days/weeks depending on whether Jayden feels like he wants to bust out of the joint a little early or sleep in longer than expected! The days are just flying by! It seems like just yesterday that I was wrapping up the month of January. And now here it is, March already! I’m not complaining though because I’m definitely ready for Spring to arrive! I don’t know about you all, but I hate Winter and all its coldness! But my ranting about the weather is definitely for another day!

So, what’s been happening over the past month here on Mommy Daddy Blog? Well, lots of things! We celebrated four more wonderful weeks of pregnancy! If you missed out on Mommy’s 29th week update with pictures, you should definitely check it out! She’s HUGE! (Oh yeah I’m definitely in the dog house now!) We also shared some pretty cool items that we were able to get our hands on including Mommy’s No Unsolicited Advice maternity tee, Yoplait Kids yogurt, and Breakfast Breaks! And what a better way to end off such a great month than with a giveaway (which is still running by the way!) for four boxes of Ronzoni’s Healthy Harvest Penne Rigate! Mmm Mmm Whole Grain Pop-Tarts!

Whole Grain Pop-Tarts A few months ago I lost my love for Pop-Tarts because for some reason it seemed like the flavor of the white bread had changed. I ran a search online and I found that I wasn’t the only one who noticed. Since then I have stopped eating Pop-Tarts up until last week when I was offered samples of Kellogg’s new whole grain Pop-Tarts in strawberry and brown sugar cinnamon flavors! Both flavors were so tasty! I’ve already added them to our grocery list! I know some of you are thinking Well gee she’s pregnant she’d eat just about anything right about now, lol. I SWEAR it’s not the pregnancy talking! I have never toasted my Pop-Tarts, so I eat them straight out of the box. They are great for snacking on and being pregnant, I’m snacking all day long! Parents can feel confident giving whole grain Pop-Tarts to their children as they are a good source of whole grains and only contain a few swirls of frosting on top of them as opposed to the big block of frosting on traditional Pop-Tarts. I am very pleased with whole grain Pop-Tarts. They are healthier and in my opinion tastier than the Pop-Tarts of yesteryear.

Safe Cleaning With Clorox Green Works

Clorox Green WorksBeing pregnant, I have to be careful about the cleaning products that I use around the house, especially for when Jayden gets here. When offered a chance to sample Clorox Green Works, I jumped at the chance. I received their natural all-purpose cleaner as well as their natural glass & surface cleaner. Both cleaners carry a lemony fresh scent and get the job done just like any other non-green product!

The advantage to using Clorox Green Works is that their are no chemicals in their formula. Clorox Green Works products are made from sustainable renewable resources. As of now, Clorox Green Works products aren’t disinfecting, but a formula to disinfect is in the works. Whether Clorox is jumping on the Green bandwagon or not, it’s about time for cleaning products that are healthier to use and have positive effects on the environment no matter WHO makes them.

The Amazing Farting Baby!

A few weeks ago, I was watching tv and a commercial for America’s Funniest Home Videos came on that literally made me explode in laughter! In the commercial was a baby lying on his stomach, and all of a sudden HE POOTED! But wait, that’s only half of it! When he pooted, powder came whooshing out of his butt! I swear it was like a geyser! I think I laughed for 3 days straight! So I definitely wanted Mommy to see this pootin’ baby. The commercial came on about every day, and every time I would tell Mommy to look at the tv, she’d always look a second too late. Explaining the pootin’ baby to her just wasn’t the same as her actually seeing it.

So after a few weeks of her missing the pootin’ baby EVERY SINGLE TIME, I decided to look on YouTube to see if anyone had uploaded a video of it. And I found it! After I showed it to Mommy, I think she laughed twice as hard as I did! I knew something this hilarious was definitely worth sharing with you all here on Mommy Daddy Blog! So I now present to you, The Amazing Farting Baby!
