Mommy Daddy Blog is a blog about Mommy (Sheena) and Daddy (Greg) and the chronicling of their current pregnancy of their first child, Jayden. As our tagline suggests, we met back in junior high and have been in love ever since!

Now, we’re excited to bring the result of our love into the world in May. Mommy is currently 31 weeks pregnant and has kept a weekly account of every week of her pregnancy since the 22nd week. In each weekly update, Mommy discusses doctor visits, eating habits, weight changes, baby movements, and more. If you’re interested in viewing some of Mommy’s weekly updates, you can do so here.

As hard as it may be, us parents have to accept the fact that our little ones must grow older. As our little ones grow older they develop all kinds of skills, the first set of skills being motor skills as an infant. Although we don’t want our little ones to grow up, we must encourage development.

I had the opportunity to review Baby’s First Moves by Baby Einstein. Baby’s First Moves is a celebration of babies’ first milestones and encourages use and development of motor skills. This is the very first Baby Einstein video I have seen, so I cannot compare it to previous videos. I found the babies in the video to be quite amusing, reaching, rolling, sitting up, clapping, jumping, crawling, and walking! I guess I am easily amused!

Baby Einstein videos are not intended to be watched alone, they should be watched together to encourage discovery and help parents and their children interact. So, instead of sitting JT down in front of the television, we will sit with him, acting out the movements as the video plays and see how he does. Since we probably won’t have JT watching much TV as an infant, what we can do for future viewings is imitate the techniques in the video and have him face us a distance from the TV if we want to use the video for audio. Whether JT watches Baby’s First Moves or not, we still think that this video will be beneficial in our household!

Another fun and exciting month has passed, and the excitement just continues to grow as each day brings us a little closer to the birth of our very first child, Jayden! Only a little over a couple of months left to go, give or take a few days/weeks depending on whether Jayden feels like he wants to bust out of the joint a little early or sleep in longer than expected! The days are just flying by! It seems like just yesterday that I was wrapping up the month of January. And now here it is, March already! I’m not complaining though because I’m definitely ready for Spring to arrive! I don’t know about you all, but I hate Winter and all its coldness! But my ranting about the weather is definitely for another day!

So, what’s been happening over the past month here on Mommy Daddy Blog? Well, lots of things! We celebrated four more wonderful weeks of pregnancy! If you missed out on Mommy’s 29th week update with pictures, you should definitely check it out! She’s HUGE! (Oh yeah I’m definitely in the dog house now!) We also shared some pretty cool items that we were able to get our hands on including Mommy’s No Unsolicited Advice maternity tee, Yoplait Kids yogurt, and Breakfast Breaks!
