My 10 month old has been on the move for quite awhile now. First with a speed army crawl (he had this arm foot movement that I swear could give race horses a run for their money).  He has now been a full fledged hands/knees crawler for months, actually really on the cusp of walking (first steps last week!).  Since we stick around home most days getting dress usually just means a shirt and fresh diaper. Because of this minimalist wardrobe my little guy constantly had red knees. That is till I found Lil’ Melon.

Since Asaph has been using Lil’ Melon baby knee pads and it has really cut down on sad looking knees. Most are one size (small) but two designs now come in toddler sizes. We tried both small and large because although my son is 10 months old he is wearing 18m+ clothing. Sure enough the small was too small- even the large hug his rolls tight, but not too tightly, it does after all have to stay up somehow. The pads have little clear silicone traction dots over the surface to keep from slipping on hardwood, tile, or linoleum. I have found that when the pads are on bare legs Ace is able to pull them up or down depending on his mood, causing the actual pad to miss the knee (with pants this doesn’t seem to be a problem). An easy fix when I notice, and the sock like material around it still offers more protection then bare knees. I look forward to using these through the walking stage, especially as it warms up and we’re outside more.

My second daughter turned two years old 6 weeks ago. As she has been showing interest in the toilet for many months, we’ve just let this be a slow progression. Until trying the Blueberry Basix AIO Cloth Diaper, I had never used an All in One diaper before. I’ve been “testing” this diaper for about two months so that I could give it a thorough review! So far, we love it! From the adorable owl print, to the crazy-soft microfleece interior (that still looks brand new, btw), what’s not to love?

For those of you who may not be familiar with various kinds of diapers, an All in One diaper is one that has the liner attached to it (so you don’t have to match up liners and outer layers after drying).  The attached liner is just stuffed back into the pocket after you dry the diaper on the line or in the dryer.  The liner also agitates itself out in the wash so you don’t have to pull out a wet liner before laundering.  The pocket also allows for additional inserts (purchased separately) to be added if needed.

I found the Blueberry Basix diaper to be very absorbent.  I could use it for naps or at night and trust that it would hold everything in as well as my daughter’s other diapers!

This is a sized diaper, so I tried the medium for my 16-month-old.  It worked great for her, plus there is room for expansion in the waist due to the multiple snaps for size adjustment.  You can purchase this awesome diaper in newborn, small, medium, and large.

When I was a little girl, my sister and I had a cassette tape we listened to every night. It was a talking animal that lived in an oak tree or something. It had a moral lesson about forgiveness and grace along with peaceful music in between stories. I can’t tell you how much peace that tape brought us. One of our Christmas traditions in our family is getting new pajamas! I recently discovered some awesome pjs that I am so excited to share with you!

Escapee Jays are “escape-proof pajamas”… that is, they are uniquely designed to prevent your sweet baby from working their way out of their pajamas during the night (or first thing in the morning).  The pajamas have a back zipper, the top of which is covered by a tab of fabric, so they can’t unzip themselves. The sleeves and legs all fit snugly (as is appropriate for safe sleepwear) and they keep your toddler from pulling their arms inside to unfasten their diaper. The neck hole is also perfectly sized so it fits over your baby’s head but does not allow the child to pull it over their shoulder and escape.
