Today marks 37 weeks and as Daddy says, “It’s crunch time!”. On Tuesday I had my cervix checked and was told I was 1 CM dilated! The week before I wasn’t and I know a trip to the mall has something to do with the progress. During that trip, my back and pelvic area ached so bad that I could hardly even move my legs to walk anymore. My midwife said that I’m doing good and Jayden will probably come early. I’m thinking it’s possible since my due date’s prediction had to be based on ultrasound and not my last period. During conception, I was coming off of Depo Provera, so it had my cycles all out of wack. I’m hoping Jayden comes early though because the suspense is killing me and I’m not liking the cons to being pregnant. I don’t want to play pregnant anymore, lol.
Tomorrow I’ll get started on laundry and sanitizing. I had planned on organizing his little clothes days ago, but realized we needed some mild detergent to wash them in and mesh lingerie bags to keep from losing socks, mits, and caps. Today we did some shopping for those things and others that we’ll need for Jayden’s arrival. Of course we’ll be back in the stores after his arrival because we’re going to realize that we forgot something.
I’m trying to take it easy before my mother gets here on the 25th. She’s getting antsy. Once she arrives, I’m going to TRY to walk my butt off. It’s kinda hard walking with a baby’s head lodged into your crotch though, lol. Today I’ve been crampy. I just hope Jayden at least holds out until we cast my belly. If he comes before we cast my belly, he will never hear the end of it!
For those that are wondering why much hasn’t been said about the nursery, it’s because we won’t be setting up a nursery until we move this summer. Jayden will be here in May, or April, then we’ll be moving between June and August. So no point in making things all pretty only to take them back down.
Since the end is near, I’ll try to pop in more often with updates. Expect a few more posts per day, which will be updates, random thoughts from Daddy or me, product reviews, and giveaways. We have quite a few giveaways in queue. That all being said, hold on to your computers and fire up those feed readers! It’s going to be pretty busy here on Mommy Daddy Blog!

April 10th marked 36 weeks for me. Sorry I’m late but I’ve just been overwhelmed with things. Thanks, Daddy, for picking the Crocheted Sunflower Infant Hat Giveaway Winner while I was fast asleep!
We had another dr’s appointment Tuesday, the 8th. The midwife checked my cervix and Jayden’s head has dropped low. I’m going to say that he dropped between week 34-35 because that’s when I started to feel the additional pressure. It’s definitely much harder to walk now, I waddle more, and there’s more pressure on my back, legs, and feet. I’m running to the bathroom more than ever too. I can’t even sleep through the night! I go potty at least 6 times each night! Oh and about that heartburn that’s supposed to go away…it didn’t.
I have found that I am addicted to lime flavored and scented products. They are Edy’s Lime Fruit Bars, Blessed Nest Sour Lime/Ginger Lip Balm, and Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena body cream and splash. I didn’t even realize my addiction until I clung to the Coconut Lime Verbena. If you have something lime, send it my way!
Oh this reminded me of something funny my nutritionist asked me Monday:
Nutritionist: Have you had any non-food cravings?
Me: Huh?
Nutritionist: Have you been craving to eat items that aren’t food? We had one lady come in here that ate dryer lint.
Me: *laughs out loud* UH NO, I haven’t wanted to eat anything but food. *laughs out loud*
Nutritionist: Hey it’s possible, pregnant women have strange cravings.
Me: *snickers*
After reading B.Y.O.Gown - The Girlie Variety at The Opinionated Parent, I am disgusted at the thought of using an hospital gown, lol. I wish I didn’t read the post BUT if you continue to read you’ll find that they are giving away a Girlie Gown! How innovative and stylish! My favorite pattern is the black and white Modern Mummy. It’s wise to choose the darkest since there’s going to be mess involved, lol. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be the winner of the giveaway!
The weather is just starting to get warmer and I bought a new lens, tripod, and other things for my camera, so I’ll be sure to update with more pictures. Expect more product reviews and giveaways as well. Until next time!

Calling all expectant parents, I have a question for you all:
Do you talk to your unborn child?
I’ve noticed that recently I’ve been talking to Jayden every single day. In the mornings when I wake up, I’ll roll over to Mommy, rub and kiss her stomach, and say “Good Morning Jayden!” And then at night, I’ll do the same thing, except this time of course I’d say, “Good Night Jayden!” Most notably though is every time I leave for work or class. It’s been a long time thing for me to tell Mommy that I love her whenever I leave to go out somewhere. But now that we’re pregnant, I’ve been telling Jayden that I love him too; although he’s not even here yet! I’d say, “I love you!”, to Mommy and she’d say, “I love you too!”, back. Then I’d say, “I love you Jayden!”, and this is where Mommy always responds with, “Goo goo!”. I guess that’s her way of speaking for Jayden (although he is totally past the “goo goo” stage!). I know that every time I say, “I love you Jayden!”, he can hear me. I’m just waiting for that one day in the future when he first starts learning how to put words together. He’ll look up at me with his little eyes and say, “I love you too Daddy……”
“…and by the way, my diaper’s loaded so you might wanna check that out, ok big guy?”
Yup, that’s my son!

EDIT: I will be posting my list of things that I’m bringing to the hospital in a separate entry. No one else tell me what to pack!!! I know you guys can’t resist! lol
Today marks 35 weeks with 35 days to go! Eeek! I have yet to pack my bag, I guess I should do that, huh? I have my mini luggage on wheels right here, it’s just empty. I’ve already written down everything that I’m bringing, it’s just the matter of tossing everything into the bag. As for Jayden’s first picture and going home outfit, I’m undecided! For his pictures, I wanted him to wear an infant kimono from Westcoast Baby or something similar. For his going home outfit, it doesn’t matter. So many cute things to wear, what to choose, what to choose?
I’m still doing good, I’m just feeling a little hefty. My body is not used to towing an extra 25lbs. Jayden is having a ball poking at my ribs. Oh I bet people are wondering about “the nursery”, well we won’t have one until we move this summer. It’s pointless to set everything up and then have to take it all down in just a few months. So until we move, Jayden will be residing in our room.
I just remembered, we need to get a belly casting kit! I don’t wanna pop without casting my belly!
Yesterday we saw the epidural DVD and it was nothing new to me, just a repeat of these videos. I just went to get my ticket for an epidural just in case. I’m hoping I don’t get to the point where I want to ask for an epidural, because I honestly don’t want one. I’m going to try to get through labor like a soldier and hopefully Jayden will be a good boy and just fall right out!
Since I’m getting so close to delivery and we have gained more readers, I want to open No Unsolicited Baby Advice (click the link to read the post) back up for discussion. Rant away mamas!
