Hey all, Daddy here! …what? You were expecting Mommy? Well, we just thought we’d switch things up a bit and give preggy Mommy a break on this one. Plus, I haven’t really been able to talk much about the pregnancy from my point of view. That is, until now! So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to MY 31st Week Update… Daddy Style!Ok, let’s see… where should I start? Hmmmm… well, she’s pregnant! Yup! Oh wait, you all already knew that. Ok well ummm… her stomach’s getting bigger! And it’s so beautiful! I can’t help but to lift up her shirt and rub her bellay whenever she’s in my vicinity. And even when she’s not within my vicinity, I can’t help but to go to where she’s at, lift up her shirt, and rub her bellay some more! I tell her every day that she is so “beautifully pregnant”. And that’s because she is. I don’t know if its the fact that there is a little me growing inside of her stomach or what, but she has never been as beautiful as she is now that she’s pregnant!
On the flipside though, not only is she eye candy for me, but she also serves as a form of entertainment for me! I know I’m wrong, but I just cant help but to laugh as I watch her wobble her way throughout the house. She sort of reminds me of a penguin. And for visual purposes…

And now that she’s getting bigger (by the DAY!), she’s also starting to hold her back quite often when she walks. I find that quite funny also because she reminds me of an old woman. Cue old woman!:

Ok, that wasn’t quite an old woman, but it’s all I could find that perfectly represents exactly how Mommy looks as she walks. Now add those two pictures together and you get Mommy! Oh yeah and when she rolls over, hi-lar-i-OUS! It takes Mommy literally two and a half DAYS to roll over from her left side to her right side, and vice versa. I could leave right now, fly all the way around the world, come back, and she’d still be in mid-turn!
Mommy knows it’s all out of love though! And trust me, I make up for every single laugh I get out of it. How, you ask? You know those pregnancy cravings women always talk about, yup those are REAL! For the past umpteen weeks, I’ve made 2,710,417 trips to Walmart to buy popsicles, yogurt, oranges, and Honeycomb cereal. For some reason, Mommy has had massive cravings for these four foods, and these four foods ONLY. I don’t know why. I’ve cleared out the popsicles, yogurt, oranges, and Honeycomb sections in Walmart on many occasions due to Mommy’s cravings. Try having the cashiers look at you weird because you come in every single day to buy the SAME four things every single time. Buy in bulk, you say? Doesn’t work! Mommy just eats more! There’s no stopping her! If it’s in the fridge, she’s going to eat it! It’s inevitable! And I end up having to go back to Walmart the next day anyway as usual. So yeah, I can at least have my few laughs here and there, can’t I?
I have to admit that it doesn’t matter what it is I have to do though. I’ll leap hurdles and jump through fiery rings if I have to, because I know it’s all for my son, Jayden. He is really starting to have a ball inside Mommy’s stomach now! Every day he’s kicking and punching and jabbing and drop kicking. It’s like he’s learning Kung Fu in there! I can already tell he’s really going to be a really active one when he gets out. The day he learns how to walk, all hell is going to break loose! He’s going to be running all over the house, jumping all over couches, and diving into laundry baskets! I don’t know what Mommy and I are going to do!
Well I guess that about wraps up how our pregnancy is going so far. Not a whole lot, but not a little. Oh yeah, and the baby shower is next week, March 15th to be exact, so we’re starting to prepare for that. Mommy’s making me go! So I hope you all enjoyed my shot at a weekly update! Until next week…!

30th Week Update + Dr. Visit
Scrapped by Mommy on February 29, 2008 – 11:28 pm -Yesterday marked 30 weeks! Only 10 weeks more or less to go! I’m getting very anxious at this point. When in bed my lower body never wants to cooperate, it just feels so heavy. When laying on my sides, it’s like all of my weight is being transferred to my hips and butt. I need a preggy pillow. JT’s wiggling all over the place, jabbing me wherever possible, lol. It’s not so much the unpleasant parts of pregnancy that have me anxious, I’m just ready to hold my bundle and move shortly after so that I can nest! We’re trying to move in May when school lets out for Daddy. It’s funny because JT’s due to arrive on a day that Daddy has finals! My mother will be here in advance so we have nothing to worry about.
We had a visit with the doctor today. Everything’s looking good. I gained 5lbs in 2 weeks, so I’m now at 122lbs with a total of 17lbs gained. I know I mentioned that I weighed 121lbs in my 27th week update, BUT when I caught a cold, I couldn’t eat much resulting in losing those hard earned pounds!!! It’s just so amazing how fast I can put on weight now. Pre-pregnancy I couldn’t even gain an ounce in a YEAR! My goal is to reach over 130lbs in hopes that I will be able to keep some of the weight. Most likely I won’t be able to…being an active, breastfeeding mother, *sigh*. I received my hospital check-in packet. I’m definitely going to the epidural class as it is required to receive one (I don’t want to take any chances) and I will try to go to the childbirth class. There’s one for breastfeeding but I don’t know if I’ll go or not. There’s so many resources right at my finger tips but that hands on learning helps too. We’ll see what happens.
That’s all for now, I’m pretty sure these last 10 weeks will bring something new and I’m ready!

29th Week Update
Scrapped by Mommy on February 22, 2008 – 11:47 pm -Surprise!!! This 29th week update is full of pictures! Yes I am all belly and JT’s using up every bit of space that he has in there! He’s going to be a little HAM like his mommy. Note to self: upload our baby pictures. JT’s workouts are so powerful that they no longer tickle, they hurt!
I made Top Momma, go vote for me! I’m the picture of the pregnancy test. I wish I had chosen a different picture, I thought I would be able to change it later… I want to last after delivering JT so keep voting, paaaleeeese! Until next time! Enjoy the pictures!

28th Week Update
Scrapped by Mommy on February 18, 2008 – 7:47 pm -Pardon my lateness. This week hasn’t been so pleasant, and it wasn’t due to being pregnant, but being sick. I’m done with the funky part of having a cold but I am now dealing with being light headed all day long. I’m feeling better but I need a solution. It seems like I feel this way right after meals. I remember going through this in September. I shall give my doctor a call.
Thursday’s doctor visit went quick. JT’s powerful heartbeat was checked. I was prescribed iron tablets because my hemoglobin was a tad low but my glucose score was 73, so I passed that. I was also given a number where I would have to schedule a time to come in a watch an epidural DVD. Basically it just covers the process, the risk, yadda yadda. If I don’t watch the DVD, I won’t be issued an epidural during labor no matter how bad that I beg or scream. I don’t know what the future holds, so I’m not going to take that risk of not going to see that DVD!
It seems that now my stomach isn’t growing fast enough for JT. He’s doing a great job with announcing his presence by leaving his little elbow and other body part imprints against my stomach. I find myself poking them back in.
Last night while cooking dinner Daddy asked me Who’s my Haute Mama? and proceeded to lift my shirt to rub my belly. A cheerio fell out on to the floor! I’m Haute and greedy, lol! Before cooking, I was eating honey nut cheerios in the bed and that one of many got trapped in my shirt!
I discovered last night after a shower, that my boobs can leak colostrum. Normally after taking a shower, I poke at my nipples to make sure that they are free of lint and that’s when they dripped. I know, TMI! I screamed and laughed out loud. Now I can get an “I Make Milk” shirt!
I leave you with the song that I think JT’s dancing to in my stomach! *sings* Ladies leave ya man at home! *sings*

27th Week Update
Scrapped by Mommy on February 8, 2008 – 6:26 pm -A day late publishing this post, but I had it written yesterday!
Today marks 27 weeks and I am starting to feel a little more pregnant. I waddle, I really don’t like wearing anything other than slip ons, and my legs are catching it from the instant weight gain. I weigh 121lbs with a total gain of 16lbs. I managed to put on the last 4 pounds in a week! Now that’s not a bad thing, I’m just amazed. I didn’t get a chance to prepare or anything. I know that if you should gain more than 4lbs in a week you should contact your doctor, but I gained exactly 4lbs so I’m fine. I already went up a bra cup, now I will need to go up a size too. I’m on the last hook and it’s still tight on me. I just bought new bras around Christmas and now I need to buy some more! When I lay down it feels like there are bricks smooshing me into the bed. Each night I feel like I need a full body massage. I’m starting to breath heavier as well. I’m starting to lack energy and I’m trying to cope. It’s always nice to relax, but I have a lot of business related tasks on my todo list. There’s no way that they can be put on the back burner. At any rate, I am getting enough rest. When my body starts to give up, I lay down immediately. JT is definitely getting bigger. I can press on my stomach and feel him. His movements are also getting much stronger. I can’t believe there’s a baby inside!
I’m just enjoying being pregnant. All of the changes going on with my body are more amazing than a pain. Next week I’ll be starting my 3rd trimester! This is all happening so fast! We also have a doctor visit on Valentine’s Day, hoping we can see JT’s face again!
So this is what pregnancy is all about…I’m getting to the good stuff now!

26th Week Update + Dr. Visit
Scrapped by Mommy on January 31, 2008 – 10:35 pm -
Today marks 26 weeks! Physically I feel great and the dreaded constipation hasn’t hit yet. Oh it’s about time I update my weight. I’m at 117lbs with a total of 12lbs gained. Today at the doctor, I partook in the glucose test. It wasn’t as bad as I expected. The cup of liquid tasted like a watered down soda. Thank goodness it wasn’t a syrupy concoction, as I envisioned. Had I not been hungry, experiencing heart burn and JT kicking, things would have been perfect. I seem to get heartburn when I start getting hungry. When I start getting hungry, JT viciously kicks. Obviously, he gets hungry too! So all of that had me a little queasy/funky in the tummy department for a few hours. I had a pap and breast exam done and we heard JT’s heart beating! Everything’s looking good. The doctor informed me that I have a wide esophageal path perfect for inserting a tube down my throat if I needed to have a C-Section and a wide pelvis perfect for having an easy delivery. He also said Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t have a baby because you are small. He just went on about how my build was perfect, something that I didn’t see coming but it put a smile on my face. I know Daddy didn’t want to hear this, another man complimenting his woman’s body! Our next visit is Valentine’s Day, we have now entered the stage where we will visit with the doctor every 2 weeks. Now I have more to add to my Mom Agenda, woohoo!

25th Week Update
Scrapped by Mommy on January 24, 2008 – 10:53 pm -
Today I’m 25 weeks pregnant! Ever had muscles in your cheeks or thighs jump or jiggle? That’s currently what the kicks are feeling like. We’re going to have to pick up some more pillows because my hips are starting to get sore when I sleep on my sides. I have to keep a rotation going throughout the night. I started using my BabyPlus on January 21st. I’m not sure if I can keep up with using it two times a day, but I’ll try. I will be following up with a review.
According to Baby Center, at 25 weeks I should do the following: Dedicate time to your partner this week. Treat your partner to a romantic surprise. Write down all the things you love about him, tell him why you think he’ll be a great dad, or just go for a stroll while holding hands. Take time to connect on a physical and emotional level and celebrate what connects you and makes you love one another. Try to do something at least once a week for 30 minutes that clearly communicates the importance of your partner in your life, says clinical psychologist Diane Sanford.
Hmmm.
Next week we go for the glucose test so I’ll be sure to mention how icky it was. I’m hoping that we can get some more ultrasound pictures taken. I want to see my buddha’s face again! I’m not sure just how many more of these weekly updates that I can do since so little can happen in a week, but I’ll try my hardest to keep up!
