I like my milk fresh from the source.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn't want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! Thanks for visiting!

Huddy Buddy (the company) was created by a mom who spent eight long years “workin’ for the man“. With the arrival of her son Huddy, she decided to call it quits with corporate life. She and her husband quickly noticed that little Huddy was dressed just like every other kidlet on the playground. That is when they decided to create some fun and unique tees for Huddy and his friends to wear. Huddy Buddy offers a new line of casual apparel for all the cool kids in the neighborhood. With the arrival of Huddy’s “buddy” (a baby sister), Huddy Buddy (the company) added girly-tees and comfy pants to the line to ensure that infants and toddlers never get stuck having nothing to wear.

Jayden is wearing an I like my milk fresh from the source. onesie from Huddy Buddy’s Little Chatterbox line. This onesie is a must-have for all the little boobie men out there! I also love, love, love the Mama’s Boy and I’m just like my dad designs. In Jayden and Daddy’s case, they’re both full of gas, lol! I don’t know who farts more!

Huddy Buddy (the company and kid) want you to feel good about your purchase. A percentage of every sale is donated to the Huddy Buddy Fund (#8100) supporting The Hospital for Sick Children. Until June 30th, part of every Huddy Buddy purchase will support the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation. Use MDB10 for 10% off all orders at Huddy Buddy!

37th Week Update: I’m 1 CM Dilated!

Today marks 37 weeks and as Daddy says, “It’s crunch time!”. On Tuesday I had my cervix checked and was told I was 1 CM dilated! The week before I wasn’t and I know a trip to the mall has something to do with the progress. During that trip, my back and pelvic area ached so bad that I could hardly even move my legs to walk anymore. My midwife said that I’m doing good and Jayden will probably come early. I’m thinking it’s possible since my due date’s prediction had to be based on ultrasound and not my last period. During conception, I was coming off of Depo Provera, so it had my cycles all out of wack. I’m hoping Jayden comes early though because the suspense is killing me and I’m not liking the cons to being pregnant. I don’t want to play pregnant anymore, lol.

Tomorrow I’ll get started on laundry and sanitizing. I had planned on organizing his little clothes days ago, but realized we needed some mild detergent to wash them in and mesh lingerie bags to keep from losing socks, mits, and caps. Today we did some shopping for those things and others that we’ll need for Jayden’s arrival. Of course we’ll be back in the stores after his arrival because we’re going to realize that we forgot something.

I’m trying to take it easy before my mother gets here on the 25th. She’s getting antsy. Once she arrives, I’m going to TRY to walk my butt off. It’s kinda hard walking with a baby’s head lodged into your crotch though, lol. Today I’ve been crampy. I just hope Jayden at least holds out until we cast my belly. If he comes before we cast my belly, he will never hear the end of it!

Here is the bedding and crib that we have for Jayden’s nursery:

For those that are wondering why much hasn’t been said about the nursery, it’s because we won’t be setting up a nursery until we move this summer. Jayden will be here in May, or April, then we’ll be moving between June and August. So no point in making things all pretty only to take them back down.

Since the end is near, I’ll try to pop in more often with updates. Expect a few more posts per day, which will be updates, random thoughts from Daddy or me, product reviews, and giveaways. We have quite a few giveaways in queue. That all being said, hold on to your computers and fire up those feed readers! It’s going to be pretty busy here on Mommy Daddy Blog!

36th Week Update + Dr. Visit

April 10th marked 36 weeks for me. Sorry I’m late but I’ve just been overwhelmed with things. Thanks, Daddy, for picking the Crocheted Sunflower Infant Hat Giveaway Winner while I was fast asleep!

We had another dr’s appointment Tuesday, the 8th. The midwife checked my cervix and Jayden’s head has dropped low. I’m going to say that he dropped between week 34-35 because that’s when I started to feel the additional pressure. It’s definitely much harder to walk now, I waddle more, and there’s more pressure on my back, legs, and feet. I’m running to the bathroom more than ever too. I can’t even sleep through the night! I go potty at least 6 times each night! Oh and about that heartburn that’s supposed to go away…it didn’t.

I have found that I am addicted to lime flavored and scented products. They are Edy’s Lime Fruit Bars, Blessed Nest Sour Lime/Ginger Lip Balm, and Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena body cream and splash. I didn’t even realize my addiction until I clung to the Coconut Lime Verbena. If you have something lime, send it my way!

Oh this reminded me of something funny my nutritionist asked me Monday:

Nutritionist: Have you had any non-food cravings?
Me: Huh?
Nutritionist: Have you been craving to eat items that aren’t food? We had one lady come in here that ate dryer lint.
Me: *laughs out loud* UH NO, I haven’t wanted to eat anything but food. *laughs out loud*
Nutritionist: Hey it’s possible, pregnant women have strange cravings.
Me: *snickers*

After reading B.Y.O.Gown - The Girlie Variety at The Opinionated Parent, I am disgusted at the thought of using an hospital gown, lol. I wish I didn’t read the post BUT if you continue to read you’ll find that they are giving away a Girlie Gown! How innovative and stylish! My favorite pattern is the black and white Modern Mummy. It’s wise to choose the darkest since there’s going to be mess involved, lol. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be the winner of the giveaway!

The weather is just starting to get warmer and I bought a new lens, tripod, and other things for my camera, so I’ll be sure to update with more pictures. Expect more product reviews and giveaways as well. Until next time!

35th Week Update

EDIT: I will be posting my list of things that I’m bringing to the hospital in a separate entry. No one else tell me what to pack!!! I know you guys can’t resist! lol

Today marks 35 weeks with 35 days to go! Eeek! I have yet to pack my bag, I guess I should do that, huh? I have my mini luggage on wheels right here, it’s just empty. I’ve already written down everything that I’m bringing, it’s just the matter of tossing everything into the bag. As for Jayden’s first picture and going home outfit, I’m undecided! For his pictures, I wanted him to wear an infant kimono from Westcoast Baby or something similar. For his going home outfit, it doesn’t matter. So many cute things to wear, what to choose, what to choose?

I’m still doing good, I’m just feeling a little hefty. My body is not used to towing an extra 25lbs. Jayden is having a ball poking at my ribs. Oh I bet people are wondering about “the nursery”, well we won’t have one until we move this summer. It’s pointless to set everything up and then have to take it all down in just a few months. So until we move, Jayden will be residing in our room.

I just remembered, we need to get a belly casting kit! I don’t wanna pop without casting my belly!

Yesterday we saw the epidural DVD and it was nothing new to me, just a repeat of these videos. I just went to get my ticket for an epidural just in case. I’m hoping I don’t get to the point where I want to ask for an epidural, because I honestly don’t want one. I’m going to try to get through labor like a soldier and hopefully Jayden will be a good boy and just fall right out!

Since I’m getting so close to delivery and we have gained more readers, I want to open No Unsolicited Baby Advice (click the link to read the post) back up for discussion. Rant away mamas!

34th Week Update

As of today I am 34 weeks preggo! I really have to get some exercise, going to and from the kitchen just isn’t enough, lol. It’s starting to get warm out so now I can take walks with Daddy. Yesterday we went to the mall, so that was something. I managed to somehow rip my jeans at the crotch while at the mall or coming home. The jeans in particular were a pair that were a tad too loose pre-pregnancy and I’m now nearly busting out of them. I guess I learned my lesson from that rip! Don’t wear anything else that I know is too small!

I had to get my grandma on and purchase a pillbox. Lately I’ve been forgetting if I’ve taken my prenatals or not. Some days I probably took them twice.

I can’t hold much liquid, as soon as my bladder reaches maximum capacity, my lower back starts killing me. It makes me want to cut down on drinking, but I’m always so thirsty! I’m going to talk to my doctor about the back pain just in case because it is so uncomfortable, but it only happens when my bladder is full. Once I take a tinkle, it goes away.

We had a doctor visit on Tuesday and of I get asked these questions one more time, I’m going to scream!:
- Is this your first baby? (They should know this by now.)
- Did you register for the child birthing class? (I was uninterested the first however many times I was asked.)
- Are you going to breastfeed? (Should have remembered my enthusiasm when asked this however many times.)
- Have you decided about circumcision? (I’ll let that one slide since it’s only been asked twice.)
- Have you decided on a birth control method after you give birth? (DIDN’T WE ALREADY DISCUSS THIS!??!?)

I hate having to repeat myself, why don’t they just record my answers in my chart?! I’m getting tired of hearing what classes are all about, I nod and “umhm” in a way that lets them know that I know already. I don’t want to go to any classes other than the epidural (required if I need one during labor) class, geez. Just because this is my first baby doesn’t mean I NEED to go or that I need to ask a bajillion questions either. In addition, I was asked if I was taking my iron pills and my answer was no because I’m afraid of getting sick. The doctor that prescribed them told me that many women don’t take them anyway. I’m not supposed to take the iron pills with antacids, eggs, cereals, whole grain breads, tea, and dairy products. I consume all of those things, around the clock!!! I took an iron tablet one morning and I starved that whole hour waiting to eat. Plus the pills can cause constipation. I already poop around the clock too (TMI, lol), so the last thing I need right now is to be constipated! I can’t do the iron pills, sorry. I get my iron in other foods (red meat, tuna, red beans, greens, whole grains, etc.) anyway. When I mentioned red beans, my midwife gave me a blank stare. When I looked at her back with my eye brow raised, she told me that she didn’t know red beans were a source of iron, but she could be wrong. Shouldn’t she know these things? Overall I’m very calm and on top of things and I guess that surprises them this being my first pregnancy. Plus nothing hurts, nothing swollen, I have no problems just the lower back pain that I mentioned above when I have to tinkle. Everything’s looking good, we’re sliding into the home stretch and I can’t wait to find out how my cervix is looking in two weeks!
