Yes I realize it’s Tuesday and that I’m a day late with this. The reason: Boogie is starting to get really good at getting himself around. Sometimes we’ll lay him down on a blanket on the living room floor, and one minute later he’ll be 10 feet away from his original spot. The problem is that our living room is still a bit cluttered from us moving in a few months back. So yesterday we decided to clean it all up and baby proof it. Who knew it would take all day? Prematurity Awareness Month

November is Prematurity Awareness Month and the March of Dimes Foundation is helping to spread the awareness of premature birth. There are two ways that you can help:

1. Make a donation to the March of Dimes, which enables them to continue their vital research, education, community services, and advocacy programs. Their goal is to raise $5,430. The significance of this amount is that there are 543,000 babies born prematurely every year in the United States, so they would like to raise one cent for each of those babies.

2. Sign the Petition For Preemies. By signing, you are helping to urge Congress and the President to make progress for preemies. The goal is to reach 543,000 signatures, one for each baby born prematurely in the United States.

Life as a parent can be very busy and hectic. We know it’s nothing short of busy and hectic for us. This leads to things that we’d like to do not getting done. Just about every day we discover something new, whether it be a website, blog, or event, that we’d like to share here on Mommy Daddy Blog. But, the problem is that we very seldom can find the time to post about them with a million other things going on throughout each day.

So what we’ve decided to do is create a new series that we’re going to call Monday Mentions. Every Monday we’ll post a Monday Mentions, where we will share interesting and fun things that we’ve discovered over the preceding week. We’re hoping to benefit everyone involved by doing this. Grow A Mo For Movember

Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a charity event held during November each year. At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face.
