Along with the Pteradactyl Hatchling we received Chuck My Talking Truck. He’s a playful little dump truck with a happy face, soft body and rounded corners for safety. He comes along with a storybook which tells of an adventure of Chuck and his friends. The first thing I noticed about him besides being cute of course, is his little loud voice. Chuck being louder than average toys makes him more realistic, like playing with one of the guys. So I guess I can deal with the way that he exerts his energy. Chuck plays over 40 fun phrases and sounds Continue Reading →

We are big fans of Melissa & Doug toys. They continue to bring well made classics to the younger generation; wooden toys designed with primary colors, doll houses, and pretend accessories. Boogie has a few of their wooden vehicles and puzzles. To add on to his Melissa and Doug collection, we were sent the Toy Upright Piano from online retailer Gummy Lump. I think the little piano it is the cutest thing. It is a toddler sized piano decorated in primary colors and music notes. It has real black and ivory keys and it works just like a real piano. Boogie loves playing with blocks. He loves stacking, sorting, and building creative objects. The folks at Mega Brands sent over their BUILD ‘N Go Table and it has been one of Boogie’s favorite toys to play with. It is the first thing he runs to when he’s ready to play. He can quietly sit for an hour at a time just building on his table. The table comes with about 20 maxi bloks, a sheet of stickers, a little car and man. I wish it came with more blocks, so Boogie could build more at once. We have plans to Continue Reading →
The Musical Sit ‘N Spin has become a favorite in our household. Boogie absolutely loves it. For the first few weeks, he did nothing but dance to the music. He’d tap the top of the wheel and start spinning in circles with his hands waving in the air. Greg and I even join in, it’s like an everyday ritual. If we tell him to turn on the music or if we hum any of the six songs, he’ll run to his Musical Sit ‘N Spin and DJ for us. Just yesterday he actually started using it for its spinning feature. Adorable Kinders is a diverse line of plush Rag Dolls that I absolutely adore. There are a total of 26 dolls, one for each letter of the alphabet, and many skin tones and hair styles to choose from. They are just too cute for words. Each doll comes with a certificate and has a special trait. Boogie’s new buddy, Zachary, is said to remember everything. Children can go online to register their dolls and play games at the eSchool. When all of the games for a grade level are successfully completed, the child then graduates to the next grade. Adorable Continue Reading →
I’m a babywearing enthusiast. I don’t talk babywearing often because I am still searching for the perfect carriers. I love my slings and Sleepy Wrap, but I really wanted something that I could wear Boogie comfortably on my back in. Something like a mai tai or the ever so popular Ergo. Something that I wouldn’t have to fight with. Something that I’d be physically and financially comfortable with. I can say that I have been swooned by the Boba Carrier. Absolutely swooned. In the Boba Carrier I can comfortably wear Boogie forward or backwards without any straps cutting into my Continue Reading →
I am a huge fan of multifunctional products. The longer we can use a product, the better. As soon as we received the Chicco Quattro (provided by CSNBaby.com), I couldn’t wait to set this thing up for Boogie. What I admired about the product was it’s ability to adjust as Boogie grows as it offers four play modes: Rocker, Push ‘N Go, Push ‘N Walk, as well as Sit ‘N Ride. When we received the car, Boogie wasn’t walking yet, so he was unable to scoot. We attached the safety bars and top bar to use in Push ‘N Go Continue Reading →
Before Boogie was born, my mom bought us a Simplicity 3-n-1 crib. Since we were preparing to move, we didn’t set up a nursery, instead we coslept. In August of ’08, we moved and made plans to set up the nursery, but we continued to cosleep. Due to lack of space, we ended up turning Boogie’s room in to the office. Some time in between the crib was recalled, so my mom had it shipped back for a refund. Fast forward to now. We’ve moved again and Boogie now has his own room. It is not in danger of becoming Continue Reading →
I am totally digging this stage in Boogie’s life. He’s old enough for hands on learning, so he can do things like color, draw, and play with Play-Doh. In honor of National Play-Doh Day (September 16th), Miss Brittany’s hooked Boogie up with a Deluxe Gift Set which included three 7 oz containers of Miss Brittany’s Organic Preschool Fun Dough, a 100% organic toddler apron, a wooden rolling pin, and four wooden shaped stampers. Now you all know that Mr. Boogie has been driving us up the wall lately and this gift from Miss Brittany’s was heaven sent. This has been Continue Reading →
Toys are created with specific purposes and functions. Children, however, always seem to find new ways to play with the toys other than what their designers intended. Take Boogie and the Clipo Creativity Table. Boogie has been playing with the Clipo Creativity Table for 2 months now. We got it when he was 14 months. In those 2 months, he has found many ways to play with the Clipo Creativity Table and it’s pieces. He’s flipped the table base over and sat inside. He’s run through the house throwing the Clipo pieces. He’s found great amusement turning the motorized gear Continue Reading →
