I’m turning into a healthy living nut and I may go out of my way to do some things that others may view as crazy and inconvenient, but the health of my family is oh so important and the positive results received from the craziness are for more rewarding than shortcuts. Some of the healthy choices we make are simple and less over the top, like limiting fast food stops and cooking from scratch, and avoiding cheap filler foods. While I don’t make a habit out of eating frozen meals on a regular, I love Healthy Choice meals. Although they Continue Reading →

Eggosaurus!
18 Apr
Over the weekend, we decided to color some eggs using an inexpensive kit I found at Walmart. I couldn’t help but to grab the Eggosaurus kit because of its dinosaur themed decorations. Jayden loves dinosaurs second best to trains of course. Since this craft project would be for display only, I didn’t let the current food dye debate rain on my egg coloring parade. I went back and forth in my head about it, admittedly. I decided to let it go this year and next year, I’d find a kit with plant based dyes. Jayden and I had a blast Continue Reading →
I had the opportunity to try Delitefuls, an all natural, preservative-free line of frozen seafood meals exclusively sold at Walmart. Each bag retails for $5.48 and contains two meals in Smart Pouches that allow the meals to be baked rather than steamed in the microwave in 6 minutes or less. Normally, I’d enjoy meals like these, but this line I didn’t too much care for. The SHRIMP Bowtie Scampi (seen above) and SALMON Florentine Alfredo meals were my favorites, the rest of the meals I could not finish because of the texture of the fish or flavors not playing well. I have a love/hate relationship with my skin. I’ve had sensitive skin since I was a little girl. I’ve been allergic to Nickel, mosquitoes (my bites swell bad), and grass (or what it’s treated with) for as long as I can remember. As I got older, I became prone to heat rash. As a teen I had very mild face breakouts, nothing bad. Around 18, I started getting bacne and I started to randomly break out in hives around my eyes, cheeks and neck. The hives all started after wearing a new jacket with a wool collar. Since then, I Continue Reading →

My friend Drea (we’ve known each other for about 4yrs!) and I have teamed up to launch a new blog called She {hearts} It! It will be review driven, but will also feature crafts, recipes, and topics on organic living and homescooling. We strive to feature unique products that make you say, “Ooo” from eco-friendly laptop messenger bags to vintage tea kettles! We look forward to partnering with small/family owned businesses first and foremost, but we also welcome the big guys too. So come check us out! I’m talking about baked jerk chicken and Drea’s giving away Pure Anada skincare! Continue Reading →
Along with the Pteradactyl Hatchling we received Chuck My Talking Truck. He’s a playful little dump truck with a happy face, soft body and rounded corners for safety. He comes along with a storybook which tells of an adventure of Chuck and his friends. The first thing I noticed about him besides being cute of course, is his little loud voice. Chuck being louder than average toys makes him more realistic, like playing with one of the guys. So I guess I can deal with the way that he exerts his energy. Chuck plays over 40 fun phrases and sounds Continue Reading →
We are big fans of Melissa & Doug toys. They continue to bring well made classics to the younger generation; wooden toys designed with primary colors, doll houses, and pretend accessories. Boogie has a few of their wooden vehicles and puzzles. To add on to his Melissa and Doug collection, we were sent the Toy Upright Piano from online retailer Gummy Lump. I think the little piano it is the cutest thing. It is a toddler sized piano decorated in primary colors and music notes. It has real black and ivory keys and it works just like a real piano. Boogie loves playing with blocks. He loves stacking, sorting, and building creative objects. The folks at Mega Brands sent over their BUILD ‘N Go Table and it has been one of Boogie’s favorite toys to play with. It is the first thing he runs to when he’s ready to play. He can quietly sit for an hour at a time just building on his table. The table comes with about 20 maxi bloks, a sheet of stickers, a little car and man. I wish it came with more blocks, so Boogie could build more at once. We have plans to Continue Reading →
Boogie is very blessed to have a great grandmother that loves him dearly. It’s my hope that I will some day be able to enjoy great grand babies. Boogie’s great grandmother loves collectibles and Hallmark-like gifts. This Christmas we wanted to get her something special. It’s hard enough trying to find sentiments for grandparents. Finding sentiments for great grandparents is nearly impossible. We were impressed at the selection of gifts that catered to great grandparents at Grandparent Gift Co. At Grandparent Gift Co., you’ll find a generous selection of sentimental gifts for all family members, but with a special focus Continue Reading →
