Because I cannot stop living in the past, I decided to decorate our play area using New Super Mario Wall Graphics from Think Geek. I figured if I put them there, I could always say that they are there for Boogie, when they are really for my nostalgic pleasure. Remember Boogie’s first birthday
? The New Super Mario Wall Graphics are awesome. They really jazz up the play area without having to paint. I think Boogie’s going to grow to love them just as much as his mama.

At Think Geek, you will find all kinds of gadgets and trinkets to fulfill your inner geek. They have a cool “Geek Points” reward program which allows customers to earn points as they make purchases. Geek Points can be redeemed for special promotions, discounts, as well as more geekerrific merchandise. I already added the 1 up beanie, JuiceBar Charger, and Geek In Training tee to my wishlist!

Help Us Feed Needy Families!
This year, we are using our Holiday Gift Guide to help raise money for our Libby’s Virtual Canned Food Drive. This is something new that we are doing, so we’ve started our goal at $500. Hopefully we can meet that goal or even surpass it! It is our hope that through this giveaway, we can bring awareness to the food drive and you’ll be inclined to donate. We’d like to offer something in return, but legally we cannot. We hope that knowing that you are helping provide food to families in need is sufficient
. Can you believe that by donating $5, you would be providing 35 meals to needy families?!
Donations $5 or More
For donations of $5 or more, please donate directly to our Libby’s Virtual Canned Food Drive. You can choose to donate more than $5, but there is an option to donate a minimum of $5. Simply select to help provide as many meals for hungry families as possible and type in $5.00. Anything less won’t go through, we already tried, which is why we are presenting another option below.
Donations Less Than $5
For donations less than $5, please donate to our Chipin Virtual Canned Food Drive. You don’t have to have a Paypal account to donate; there is an option to donate via credit/debit above the card logos.

Before Boogie was born, my mom bought us a Simplicity 3-n-1 crib. Since we were preparing to move, we didn’t set up a nursery, instead we coslept. In August of ‘08, we moved and made plans to set up the nursery, but we continued to cosleep. Due to lack of space, we ended up turning Boogie’s room in to the office. Some time in between the crib was recalled, so my mom had it shipped back for a refund. Fast forward to now. We’ve moved again and Boogie now has his own room. It is not in danger of becoming our office, we’ve got plenty of space.
At 17 months, we feel it’s about time we introduce him to his own bed. We had planned on converting the crib to a toddler bed before it was recalled. After the recall, we decided we’d get a simple character bed, nothing fancy. But Boogie really isn’t in to characters, I’d hate to force them on him. And with a character bed, we wouldn’t have as much freedom with bedding in different color schemes that may not necessarily match. Enter the Delta Sleigh Toddler Bed. The folks over at Delta Children’s Products were kind enough to send us the Sleigh Toddler Bed in Natural. It’s such a classy little bed. It’s a grown up’s bed scaled to toddler size.
Greg put it together in less than 30 minutes with no issues other than needing an L-wrench for a few screws. Luckily, we had an L-wrench that we saved from furniture we had put together previously. This bed is lightweight, yet sturdy. I just love the natural finish. It compliments any type of bedding. Take a look at Mr. Boogie’s new bed!

My mom has the mattress, so once we get it set up with the bedding (can you guess what print we chose?), I’ll post an update! I’m so excited for my lil man! Don’t mistake the excitement for wanting to get him the heck out of our bed, I really am excited for him!
Note: It looks like the outlets aren’t covered in the picture, they’re clear.

When we moved last August we had plans of setting up a nursery for Jayden. We had the crib, the bedding set, and other trinkets. Upon moving in, we realized that were pressed for space. So what was supposed to be Jayden’s room, became the office. We had become accustomed to co-sleeping, so we just went with what worked best for us.
We are gearing up to move again and Jayden will definitely have his own room this time around. He is older now, so there’s no need for the crib or the bedding. We are now looking for a toddler bed and an innocent, yet mature bedding set for his room. We do plan on extending our family, so it would make sense to save the unused crib bedding for the second baby. And since they will most likely be sharing rooms, we’d like for their sets to match. Keeping that in mind, we’re looking for a toddler bedding set that will match the crib bedding set that we already have.

The Jungle Adventure Toddler Bedding Set at Tiny Totties is much like the crib bedding that we already have. What I love about jungle themes is that they are gender neutral. Although this set is in the little boys section, I can see myself adding things here and there to make the room friendly for both a boy and a girl. The Jungle Adventure Toddler Bedding Set also has many matching accessories available to complete the room, including a hamper, wall decor, and valance which is a plus if we decide on the set.
What I love about Tiny Totties is their low price guarantee on all of their products. Say I found the same set at another store, but it is sold out, I can get Tiny Totties to match their price! And the icing on the cake, all crib bedding sets ship for free! What more could you ask for? Tiny Totties has earned a special spot in the shopping for kiddos folder in my bookmarks. To keep up with the latest happenings at Tiny Totties, visit their blog or follow them on Twitter!

I’ve been itching to do something with my balcony ever since the weather started getting nice. I had no clue as to what I wanted to do. Should I buy a mini swing set and a few plants? How about a patio set? Should I try my luck at gardening? Tired of going back and forth with myself, I said I’d just look around and grab items and go from there. But before I had a chance to start actively looking, Walmart presented me with the opportunity to choose a patio set and accessories of my choice to help decorate my outdoor space. Shortly after, The Home Depot presented me with a mini shopping spree in their gardening section. The icing on the cake, right?! By shopping at both stores, I was able to choose from a variety of items to transform my balcony in to a mini oasis. Think of bringing the indoors outdoors.
From Walmart’s Better Homes And Gardens collection, I choose a bistro set, accent seat cushions, a rustic garden tub that I turned into a planter for my lettuce, and a cute little gnome. I also grabbed a Topsy Turvy planter, three large plant pots, vegetable plants and soil.
After setting up the Topsy Turvy, I decided that I wanted to get another to grow green peppers in. I couldn’t find any more Topsy Turvy planters at Walmart or even Home Depot. They are hot this summer. Many of my neighbors have them hanging up on their balconies and patios. Since I was unable to find any more Topsy Turvy planters, I decided to get creative. I made fancier Topsy Turvys out of hanging coconut baskets which I found at Home Depot. At Home Depot, I also snagged an assortment of flowers, a terra cotta pot, and coconut basket planters.
I had such a hard time choosing items for my balcony because it is a small space. I didn’t so much have to limit what I bought, more so the amount. If I could have grabbed more flowers, plants, and a fountain I would have, but I had to leave room to breathe! I just love how my balcony turned out. And it came together with $400. It is a place where I can sit with Boogie, get some fresh air, as well as blog
.
Thanks Walmart and The Home Depot for sponsoring this makeover! I truly appreciate it!
