With the back to school season in full effect, I’m sure many families have packing lunches on the brain. I’ve had the chance to research and try out a few healthy snacks that I am very excited to share. They are sure to put a smile on the kids’ faces during lunchtime! Brother’s All Natural Fruit Crisps are stripped of water gently by freeze drying. These freeze dried fruits are convenient and perfect for children with allergies. They are full of the same nutrients as fresh fruit and are free of preservatives, sulphur dioxide, added sugars, peanut/tree nuts, gluten, soy, Continue Reading →
Now as you all know, Boogie is done with baby foods. He actually just about skipped over eating them. He liked fruits the most, but even that was short lived. Beech Nut sent Boogie some samples of their Homestyle baby food to try out. When introducing him to these delicious fruit blends, we got instant gratification, lol. He loves them! We keep these around the house for when we run out of his favorite fresh fruits. They are also perfect to have in the diaper bag while traveling. Now that Boogie has been having trouble gaining weight, I’ve been trying Continue Reading →
Now that Jayden is 15 months, I look back and wonder how things would have been had I done things differently with him. Take breastfeeding versus formula feeding for example. I can’t even imagine how things would have been had I formula fed. I think about how accustomed I’ve gotten to snuggling up with Jayden, offering him breast milk as he desires it, and falling back in to a light, yet peaceful sleep throughout the night. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, even though I breastfed Jayden for the first 12 months of his life, I kept a Continue Reading →
After being taunted by the countless tantalizing commercials for Wendy’s Boneless Chicken Wings, I decided I HAD to try them. The commercial advertises about 10 tender, juicy, plump, boneless chicken pieces, covered in the sauce of your choice; Bold Buffalo, Honey BBQ, and Sweet and Spicy Asian. Mmm, was I going to be in heaven. Even better, I was presented with the opportunity to try an order of Boneless Chicken Wings free of charge courtesy of Mom Central. I couldn’t wait for my Wendy’s gift card to arrive, so I rushed over to my local Wendy’s and ordered the Bold Continue Reading →
While we’re not in desperate need of a vacation, spending some time away from home wouldn’t hurt. So I never pass up entering sweepstakes when vacations are involved. We are in a time where giveaways and sweepstakes are increasing in popularity, so it is easy to score some great prizes. Big ones. Trust me, I’ve won BIG, but that’s a story for another day. Maybe I’ll spill the beans some time in August. But let me tell you about the latest sweepstakes that I’ve entered over at VacationRentals.com. They are giving one lucky winner an all expense paid vacation getaway Continue Reading →
I had the opportunity to sample some of Frito-Lay’s newest snacks and I must say that I am impressed. See, I am so picky when it comes to “healthy” foods, because in my eyes if it’s healthy, most likely it’s flavorless. Not these snacks! Smartfood, Flat Earth, and Baked Lays, I love you! If you absolutely love snacking all day long (like me), but you are trying to control your portions and calories (ehh, me, not so much), then you will enjoy these tasties! For a chance to win a Woman’s World Snack Pack including a bowl, Baked! Lays potato Continue Reading →
I love SunChips. French Onion and Peppercorn Ranch are my favorite flavors. When I found out about their efforts to make their bags compostable, that made them *this much* more yummier to me. I mean how clever is that? Now, if only grocery stores would catch on. SunChips has partnered with National Geographic to launch the “Green Effect” – a national initiative where consumers can submit their ideas on how to make their communities green for the chance to win $20,000 to make that green dream a reality. Entries must be in by June 8th, so get to submitting! In Continue Reading →
Summer is right around the corner and so are the picnics and barbecues! Many Americans, kids and adults alike, are eating too much salt and not getting enough important nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. Mrs. Dash and Country Crock have some ingredients that can help families make healthier meals. Mrs. Dash offers two new seasonings, Fiesta Lime Seasoning Blend and Caribbean Citrus Seasoning Blend. These seasonings are great for adding some UMPH to grilled meats without using salt. Just two tablespoons of Country Crock Calcium plus Vitamin D provides 20% of the Daily Value for calcium and 40% for Continue Reading →
Let me tell you guys about this outstanding juice called First Juice. Jayden l-o-v-e-s it! First Juice is the first organic fruit and vegetable juice made just for young children. The company stands behind their motto “training wheels for healthy eating”! By introducing children to healthy foods and drinks that are not heavy in sugars, they grow accustomed to healthy eating habits. David Glasser, CEO of First Juice, Inc., created the juice out of frustration at the limited beverage choices for his toddler and preschooler. Him and his wife were tired of diluting the juice for their girls. Their youngest Continue Reading →
