Yes, you read right. You can save the ocean while baking cookies. How? Through Oceana’s Adopt A Creature program. Through the Adopt A Creature program, a collection of 6 sea creature cookie cutters and 4 sea creature plush toys can be given as gifts and adopted by their gift recipient. Cookie cutter packages include a cookie cutter, an adoption certificate, creature facts and a sugar cookie recipe. Plush toy packages include a plush toy, and adoption certificate. There’s an option to adopt each cookie cutter and plush separately or all together in a special package.

Speaking of special packages, Adopt a Creature has teamed up with 12-year old Casey Sokolovic to create a special adoption package in honor of her dedication to saving the sea turtles. She was a finalist in this year’s Ocean Heroes contest and she volunteers for a local sea turtle rescue center in her home state of North Carolina. She’s baked thousands of sea turtle cookies and has raised over $3,000 to help protect these beloved creatures.
