Dealing with Boogie’s Eczema has been an emotional roller coaster. It has been really nerve wracking, but what can you do but deal? We were given the opportunity to try out some products by Exederm. We’ve been using them on Boogie’s skin for two months and I am pleased with the results. I love that these products contain no irritants that would normally cause Eczema flare ups. Exederm products contain no fragrance, color or dyes, parabens, lanolin, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, formaldehyde, or phthalates.

I will say that these products are not a cure for Eczema, but they do keep the flare ups at bay. In conjunction with using these products, we limit baths and we keep Boogie from scratching as much as possible by keeping his legs and feet covered. Keeping him from scratching keeps him from developing thick dry patches on his legs and arms.

Throughout the day we’ve been using the Baby Eczema Lotion and the Baby Eczema Cream throughout the day. The cream is a tad thicker than the lotion, but I’d side with the lotion since it’s the same price and has 2oz more inside. To me, they work the same. After baths, we slather him in the Baby Eczema Oil and either the lotion or the cream. Since we try to limit the amount of baths he takes to 1-2 times a week, the baby oil, Baby Wash, and Baby Shampoo lasts a long time, especially with the wash and shampoo. A little goes a long way and since we don’t shampoo during each bath we practically still have a full bottle.

I really want to try the Flare Control Cream. Boogie’s cheeks used to flare up so bad, we resorted to taking him to the dermatologist. He was prescribed Elidel; it worked well but it is VERY expensive and I’m not too crazy about it. I’m curious to see if the Flare Control Cream works as well as Elidel, it would definitely save us a ton of money in the event of a flare up rearing its ugly head.
