When we chose our new place of residence, we were put in a pretty awkward situation. We had chosen a two story townhome, big deal. We’ve lived in a two story townhome before, but this time around we had a very active toddler who would live on the stairs if he could.
First, we had to seal the gaps between the banisters to keep curious body parts from getting stuck in between. We were able to do this with the the Kid Shield, 15′ Roll. Installing the kit was pretty easy. We did run in to a problem using the hole puncher that was included in the kit. It was much easier to just punch holes in the plastic using a philips screwdriver.
Next, we had to close off the stairway upstairs. No ordinary gate was going to do the job. We were going to have to find some kind of gate that would welcome a wall on one side and a banister on the other. With the Dream Baby Swinging Security Gate and Banister Gate Adapter we were able to guard the upstairs stairway. Since there was some space in between the gate and the wall, we picked up a 10.5″ Gate Extension to fill in the gap. The security gate and extension was easy to install as well and fits snug between our banister and wall. Our stairway is now Boogie proofed and he can run around upstairs without us worrying about him tumbling down the stairs or slipping through the cracks. We love how the Dream Baby Security gate installed and how it blends in with our banister, so we will be purchasing another for downstairs to replace the plastic gate we are currently using.
