When I first started wearing Boogie in pouch slings, I really didn’t like how they felt. I felt like my back wasn’t supported very well. Turns out, I just had to get used to wearing a sling. Now, I’ve grown fond of pouch slings, unpadded in particular. They have gotten me through some pretty intense traveling situations like mad dashing through airport security, touring the parks in Disney World, and the headquarters of General Mills. When I’m on the go with Boogie in tow, the last thing that I want to have to do is fumble with him and my belongings. I don’t like to hold up lines, get in the way, or disturb others. Pouch slings are pretty straight forward, there’s no strings, loops, and doodads to figure out and they fold right up to be stored in a purse or diaper bag.
I found a gem of a pouch sling, the MeeUp. The MeeUp is a very basic pouch sling made from gorgeous fabrics. Just like with headbands, I like to match my baby carriers with what I’m wearing. Since my baby carrier collection isn’t as large as my headband collection, I really appreciate the MeeUp’s reversible design. The MeeUp that I am wearing in the photo above is Tapestry Ruby, lined with a coffee bean solid. I wear the patterned side when I’m wearing solid clothing and if I’m wearing an outfit with patterns, I just reverse the MeeUp to the coffee bean solid.
Both Boogie and I are very comfortable when using the MeeUp. It is easy on my back and wears kind of like a shirt. The carrier drapes over my shoulder without yanking it down or cutting in to my neck. Boogie is 21 pounds, small for a 16 month old, but still heavy for his small framed mama. The MeeUp supports us both well.
I am very pleased with the MeeUp. It’s durable. It’s comfortable. It’s easy to use. It washes well. It’s 2 carriers in one. Really, what more can I ask for?
