When disinfecting surfaces let the cleaner sit a while to have time to kill the germs. Spray, walk away and come back. Same for hand washing. Normal soap and water, but 30 seconds.
I Battle the Bug all year long by frequently washing my hands.
I wash my hands all the time.
A healthy diet goes a long way to fighting bugs all year long!
In our house we have tissues in all of the bathrooms and othe rooms and they are used frequently. Everyone is also reminded to wash hands regularly and I also carry sanitation spary when washing your hands isn’t possible.
Tissue is a favorite word at our house. My one year old and two year old both know where the tissues are around the house. If anyone sneezes they are off and running to claim them a tissue and offer it up!
We battle the bug with lots of hand washing
We teach our kids to wash their hands while they sing “Happy BIrthday” to make sure they are washing long enough.
I take good care of myself and my family, eat right and get plenty of sleep.
We try to make sure we eat healthy, wash our hands frequently, and have Kleenex in every room. I also wash phones, keyboards and doorknobs often with sanitary wipes.
We battle the bug all year round by my nagging my kids all the time to wash their hands, and I have fruity smelling anti-bacterial soap pumps at all the sinks, the kids tend to wash their hands more when they like the sweet fruity scent of the soap, and I don’t get mad if they play and splash the water around a little, I’d rather have them wash their hands without a battle and clean up a little water around the sink, than have them defy me and not wash their hands. I also always carry Purel hand sanitizer with me when we go out and always ask my kids to rub their hands in it if they have been playing with other children and touching lots of toys or doors that many other people have touched. I think this combined with great healthy diet and lots of sleep help somewhat to keep everyone healthy!
I battle the bug by having a flu shot prior to flu season. I work at a Univeristy and I am in contact with many students. I also keep hand sanitizer on my desk because I am shaking hands all day and who knows what some people have been touching. I also keep a box of Kleenex on my desk and in my car incase I have allergies. Thanks for the giveaway these Anti-Viral tissues would be great for my office.

Lots of Vitamin C and hand sanitizer

I am scrupulous about wiping grocery cart handles with alcohol wipes before using them. So many germs and viruses are on them. Yuck.
My kids wash their hands. That’s a given. But to keep the “bugs” away, they are allowed to be kids. They play in the dirt, they play with other kids, they go out in public, and I even allow them to touch things out in public(ie the sinks and the doorknobs). This fascination the American people have with germs and the fact that the country is now wrought with germ-a-phobes is just disgusting all its own. FYI: Hand sanitizers are becoming one of the reasons people are sick all the time. Your body is designed to handle these germs. Stop taking away it’s ability to fight and you won’t get sick if someone with a sniffle looks in your general direction!
I wash my hands regularly and I also take a daily muli-vitamin, which helps me stay healthy.
Wash hands often, and take vitamins daily.

We are hand washers and I keep hand sanitizer in the diaper bag for when we go out! Also, when the kids are in school they have to change their shirts as soon as they get home (a good tip from our pediatrician. Shirts kids wear during school can become full of germs and they bring them home with them so it is a good idea to have them put on a clean shirt when they get home.
I carry hand sanitizer with me always.
Thanks
we take our multi-viamins to boost our immunity and try to keep our hands. clean.
I have become a regular (my friends would say obsessive) user of hand sanitizer – seriously, I keep a bottle in my bag, my office, and almost every room of my house. I’ve also made an effort to take Vitamin C and immunity supplements more often, and I’ve noticed that simple changes to my diet, such as eating more fresh fruits and drinking as much water as possible, have made a huge difference in battling the bug.

We wash hands as often as possible.
We battle it by washing our hands often, teaching the kids to cough into their sleeves (versus hands), and by trying to get lots of vitamin C (I know some say it doesn’t help, but I think it does!). All that said, the VBS kids got me this year with some kind of virus that hit hard. Can’t always beat it!
The biggest way I battle germs is by hand washing and hand sanitizing. I wash my hands after handling dirty dishes, diapers and after going to the bathroom. In public, when I leave a store or after handling money or heavily-used public objects (such as ATMs for deposits, shopping carts, gas pumps, etc.), I sanitize. I’m also doing the same with my children!
I’d like to think that it’s working… I was sick with four different colds/resp. infections throughout the late fall and winter, but I attribute that to being run down, overtired and stressed!
I always wash my hands when I get home from anywhere and I also never share drinks with anyone!

My son is an antibacterial fanatic. It seems like I am constantly buying the antibacterial gel and when we have to get the school supplies at the beginning of the year, he always make me buy 2 of the huge bottles for his teacher. I know it may seem redundant but as a nurse and a mommy, I cannot reiterate enough about how important it is to wash your hands several times a day with lukewarm water and soap–using friction, too! Its amazing how people think a quick rinse in cold water is “handwashing” ((((shudder)))
Proper handwashing has been proven to be the most effective way to prevent the spread of illness and other communicable pathogens.

I’m not as careful as I should be. I guess I’m fortunate that I rarely get sick. When I was a child (I’m 82 now) I swam in polluted water, in NY, and I think I must have built up an immunity to lots of “bugs”, because I’m basically healthy. I am surely grateful for that. When you are my age, you have enough other things to contend with!-

that video is hilarious. Frequent hand washing and germ killing hand gels help, but colds are inevitable – especially when people who are sick are out coughing and sneezing all over other people in public places. It’s been mentioned a few times, but I believe washing your hands is the greatest way to Battle the Bug. Not only is it sanitary, it also teaches your child good habits. I constantly remind every child to soap-up before they start or finish a project. Washing your hands is not a 100% avoidance of the bug, but it sure does decrease your chances of getting it by margins. So long bug!!

During cold & flu seasons I try to stay away from crowds as much as possible. I always call before visiting anyone & see if there has been illness before I visit. I also wash hands frequently. Also I clean the steering wheel of the car, the flusher thingy on the toilet, doorknobs, and T.V. remotes fairly often.
We practice hand washing several times a day and if we are out, hand sanitizer. Also, the kids do not visit if their friends are sick and we have no one over if our kids are sick.
