Along with the Pteradactyl Hatchling we received Chuck My Talking Truck. He’s a playful little dump truck with a happy face, soft body and rounded corners for safety. He comes along with a storybook which tells of an adventure of Chuck and his friends. The first thing I noticed about him besides being cute of course, is his little loud voice. Chuck being louder than average toys makes him more realistic, like playing with one of the guys. So I guess I can deal with the way that he exerts his energy.
Chuck plays over 40 fun phrases and sounds when you bump his bumper, cab, dump bed or when you roll him back and forth. Chuck comes to life by moving his front bumper and dump bed as he talks. Chuck also has a voice activation option which can be turned on and off. When you talk to him, he’ll power up and roll on over to the source of the sound. When Chuck gets to rolling, Boogie gets out of dodge. Since Boogie isn’t used to toys that roll on their own, we’ve turned off that option for now. He does get a kick out of poking at him and dumping his blocks and snacks out of his dump bed.
Chuck My Talking Truck retails for $39.99 and is on sale for $24.99 at Amazon.com. If you are doing some belated Christmas shopping, now would be a great time to grab Chuck and maybe a few of his friends!

We are big fans of Melissa & Doug toys. They continue to bring well made classics to the younger generation; wooden toys designed with primary colors, doll houses, and pretend accessories. Boogie has a few of their wooden vehicles and puzzles. To add on to his Melissa and Doug collection, we were sent the Toy Upright Piano from online retailer Gummy Lump.
I think the little piano it is the cutest thing. It is a toddler sized piano decorated in primary colors and music notes. It has real black and ivory keys and it works just like a real piano. It plays two full octaves, so Boogie can actually practice some of his favorite tunes. And you know, although this is a noise making toy, it doesn’t bother me. I love hearing him bang play.
Gummy Lump is currently offering 20% off ALL Melissa & Doug Toys! They also have quite a few other sales listed on their special offers page. There’s plenty of favorites to spend some of that Christmas money on!

Boogie loves playing with blocks. He loves stacking, sorting, and building creative objects. The folks at Mega Brands sent over their BUILD ‘N Go Table and it has been one of Boogie’s favorite toys to play with. It is the first thing he runs to when he’s ready to play. He can quietly sit for an hour at a time just building on his table.
The table comes with about 20 maxi bloks, a sheet of stickers, a little car and man. I wish it came with more blocks, so Boogie could build more at once. We have plans to pick up an additional set since he really seems to be enjoying building with the maxi bloks. I decided not to put the stickers on the bloks because stickers only last so long before they start to wear and peel. Instead, we’ll use them for something crafty.
The BUILD ‘N Go Table is a great grab-and-go toy. The pieces can be stored under the table top panels, the legs fold up, and there are built in handles for transporting. So if we are ever going to visit our folks, this would probably be the only toy we grab. I definitely see this toy getting lots of love over the years. Being able to build and create never gets old. Thanks Mega Brands for an exceptional product and a little more time to relax

Boogie is very blessed to have a great grandmother that loves him dearly. It’s my hope that I will some day be able to enjoy great grand babies. Boogie’s great grandmother loves collectibles and Hallmark-like gifts. This Christmas we wanted to get her something special. It’s hard enough trying to find sentiments for grandparents. Finding sentiments for great grandparents is nearly impossible. We were impressed at the selection of gifts that catered to great grandparents at Grandparent Gift Co.
At Grandparent Gift Co., you’ll find a generous selection of sentimental gifts for all family members, but with a special focus on grandparents. What’s unique about these gifts is that all of the poems and sentiments featured on the gifts were written by store owner, Teri Harrison. In the 1990’s, Teri wrote her first poem, Grandma’s Heart which brought tears to mothers and grandmothers. Teri has since published over 100 poems, 2 books and numerous articles and short stories in parenting publications. She continues to use her talent to create one of a kind gifts under $40.
We received the What are Great-Grandparents made of 8×10 Frame. It displays a beautifully written poem and has a slot for a 4×6 photo. I know Boogie’s great grandmother will absolutely love it. I highly recommend Grandparent Gift Co. as a place to shop for gifts with meaning. Here’s to retiring the ol’ robe and slippers idea for good.
