Since we’ve moved in September, we’ve felt much better about the place we call home. We are comfortable with our increased living space, the location is perfect and we are still close to family. Now that we are settled in a home that we will be in for years, we’ve been considering having parties and get togethers at our place. Maybe a spot of bingo (yeah right, lol). We even considered having Thanksgiving at our house. Ehhh maybe Christmas.
Sunday, I got a little party planning practice in by inviting my mother, aunt, and Greg’s grandmother for finger foods, facials, and manicures. It wasn’t anything big, but it was relaxing. For dinner, I made fried chicken drumsticks, fried okra, buttermilk biscuits, and cucumber salad. I set out cupcakes and Nature Valley Nut Clusters for snacks – lots of finger foods! We enjoyed each others’ company and I will definitely do something like this again. It’s always the simple things that we appreciate the most.

I make a cheeseball and serve with crackers and we usually cheat and order a pizza. We tend to not have a problem with keeping things clean but we have to always have paper towels on hand because if my niece is here she will not eat without one.
We started entertaining a little more this year. We do keep most of the “parties” out in the backyard. We don’t want all the kids thrashing the place.
We have been very fortunate that our guests help us clean up, all the time. Last one we had one of the ladies actually packed up the dishwasher. It’s been wonderful so far.

I use a roll of paper towels a week. Lots of times I’ll put a paper towel, when possible, on a plate then my food on the paper towel. That way no plate to wash. My favorite finger foods are chicken fingers, pizza rolls .

When my family and I have get togethers I try and keep to party picked up as I go. Rinse dishes and put them in the dishwasher as the come and keep food picked up. At the end of the get together comes to a close there is minimal cleaning to be done.

LOVE little hotdogs in blankets, scallops wrapped in bacon, potato chips and dip, and these ham/cream cheese/horseradish rollups my mom makes.
I usually stay on top of cleaning up minor spills and whatnot throughout the party. Paper towels are a God send when it comes to messes! Especially when those messes involve children! And I am totally guilty of serving non-messy foods at birthday parties (tacos, chili, etc).

We try to host parties while serving finger foods and everyone seems to love them. Some of the items we serve are cut up hero sandwiches, meatball wraps, which we make by taking a cooked meatball, slice it in 1/2 and wrap with crescent roll dough and bake until brown. We also love to serve, garlic flavored crackers with cream cheese on top and we add a 1/2 sliced green olive ontop.

We like serving veggies with dip, we also like to make little individual cheesecake cupcakes, I like to make pumpkin muffins. Chicken wings are a favorite! We also like to have cheese and crackers readily available. Paper towels are a must around the holidays, whenever family comes to visit, I make sure to have several rolls available.

For the actual entrees we use paper plates and plastic silverware. And we all pitch in to help clean up. We usually go through a couple rolls of paper towels.

My family’s favorite finger food is pizza, and we normally just put the slices on a paper towel to serve, and use that for a napkin as well. Everyone is old enough to clean up after themselves now, so that is a great help!

I hosted a baby shower and the food was planned so that we would not have to wash dishes. We made little tea sandwiches, cut up cubes of different cheese and put decorative toothpicks in them, baby carrots, baby pickles, etc. All finger foods so no silverware would have to be used.
I do use paper towels and I won’t feel guilty about it. We made a lot of changes for the environment but I am not sure extra laundry esp with a HUGE family is not worse in the long run.

Finger foods are the best mostly with small kids running around. Quesadillas and tortilla chips are a favorite in this house. I love Viva paper towels. They truly feel like a luxury to me. Great feel and great designs. I get lots of compliments on them when guests are over.

My family is so large, it is a real chore washing dishes after a holiday family meal. Yes, we use paper plates. Not styrofoam, paper. And paper towels instead of napkins. It’s the food, family, fun, and fellowship that is important, NOT the “china”.

I like mini soft tacos, mini quiches, soy hot dogs wrapped in biscuit dough…anything neat! I set out lots of cloth napkins too.

I love to entertain and since my friends hate to, it seems that everyone ends up at my house. Cleaning up is a chore and I am reading the other comments to get some ideas. I have started using paper plates but have resisted using plastic forks. Finger foods sound like a good idea.
I love fried pizza pockets (homemade), carrot and celery sticks with dip, pizza cut into breadstick sizes and mini focaccias

Favorite finger foods would be Boars head maple honey ham on Hawaiian rolls, pepperoni rolls and Lumpia.

For birthday parties etc. we use all disposable things and always have a couple of rolls of Viva towells around. They really do a quick job of cleaning
I do like to serve finger foods and stuff I can prepare ahead of time so I’m not running around and not enjoying my guests. I do lots of fruit and veggie trays, chips, some finger sandwiches made of chicken, dried cranberries and walnuts, and them a few yummy finger desserts. I do use paper towels for cleanups during the party!

My favorite finger foods are raw veggies (celery and carrot sticks, cauliflower, broccoli) with a choice of dips.
Some of my favorite finger foods are deviled eggs.
Fave finger foods are watercress sandwiches, cukes and hummus and mini cheesecakes.
I use paper towels, but rinse and reuse a few times before tossing.

We love sausage balls and spinach dip around here. We do use paper towels and I think Viva is the best and thickest and most reusable. However, I don’t buy Viva every time, because they don’t ever seem to be on sale. But if I had $50 extra I might buy them more often!
