It’s just about that time of the year again, where there’s increased shopping, decreased temperatures, and lots of spending valuable time with the family! It’s also the time of the year when traveling is at its peak. For some people, it’s just a matter of driving down the street to be able to spend the holidays with family. But for many, it means traveling to another state or even across the country. If you are one of those who have to endure multiple hours in a car or plane in order to be with your family this season, are you prepared for it?

If not, then FamilyTravelGear.com may be able to help you out. We all know that long road and plane trips can get boring. For us adults, we typically know how suck it up and bear it out. But for the kiddos, who can get bored very quickly and let it be known to everyone within vicinity, they may need something to help keep them occupied during these long trips. Family Travel Gear realizes this and provides an array of travel supplies that help give you a peace of mind and peace and quiet! Here is a brief excerpt from their about page to give you some insight into who they are and what they’re about:

Family Travel Gear is a family owned and operated business inspired by our personal travel experiences with our children. Family Travel Gear was established as a ‘family friendly’ company by owners Kevin and Linda Walsh, who are dedicated in assisting families traveling with babies, kids, and teens by providing products to make your trip a stress free success.

Family Travel Gear provides all types of gear for all types of travel and people of all ages. It’s your one stop shop for travel gear for the entire family!

Will your family be traveling by car this holiday season? Family Travel Gear has you covered there, with many items to lessen the amount of “Mooooooooom! Daaaaaaaaad! Are we there yet?”’s. One item that I liked in particular was the Snack and Play Travel Tray.

Snack and Play Travel TrayThe Snack and Play Travel Tray helps to keep children occupied by providing a surface on their lap to play and eat. The tray is made of nylon, which makes it easy to clean in the event of spills. Anyone who has ever had to clean Hawaiin Punch out of their car’s cloth seats or floor rugs would definitely appreciate this! The tray also has raised side walls to prevent toys, crayons, etc. from rolling off. This is a BIG plus with me, because I can’t count how many toys I’ve had to dig from under the seats because they fell out of Boogie’s car seat.

Family Travel Gear also provides products for plane travel that help make the ride for a child both safe and fun.

CARES Child Aviation Restraint SystemSafety is a huge concern while riding an airplane, and for that, Family Travel Gear offers the CARES Child Aviation Restraint System. Certified by the FAA, CARES eliminates the need to lug a car seat on board. It conveniently fits in your pocket and works in conjunction with the airplane’s seat belt. Specifically made for children, CARES was built with children, who are old enough for their own seat, but are still too small securely fit between the plane’s regular seat and belt, in mind.

Trayble ClothAlthough CARES will keep the little ones safe and snug in their seat, it won’t provide much in the entertainment department for them. This is where the Trayble Cloth comes in. You could practically call the Trayble Cloth the airplane version of the Snack and Play Travel Tray. The Trayble Cloth is a slip cover that slips over the airplane’s tray table to provide a neat and clean surface for children to eat and play. It too, just like the Snack and Play, is made of nylon, which makes it easy to clean up spills and markings. There are also front pockets where small toys and crayons/markers can be stored when not in use. If you’ve ever dropped a crayon on the floor of an airplane during takeoff or landing, it’s pretty much safe to assume you’re not getting it back!

sale signEveryone enjoys saving money and loves catching a good sale, which is why Family Travel Gear holds a sale every month where you can save on items within their store. Family Travel Gear also has what they call a “24 Hour Madness Sale” where customers can save up to 75% on items! Their Madness Sales are only provided on a moment’s notice and only lasts 24 hours (duh!) so you’ll need to keep a frequent check on their website in order to get in on the action! Alternatively, you can create an account and sign up for their email newsletter to receive notifications of Madness Sales. In addition, you’ll receive coupons, tips on traveling with children, notifications of giveaways, and 5% off of your entire order from FamilyTravelGear.com!

Family Travel Gear also realizes that some people such as myself tend to fail to plan ahead and wait until the last minute to prepare for a trip. So they provide fast shipping to get your needed traveling supplies to you before you leave. They even offer the convenience of shipping to the hotel at your final destination just in case you are one of those people such as myself who wait until it’s too late to prepare for a trip. This way, you’ll at least have your supplies for the trip back. For those who do plan ahead, Family Travel Gear provides travel lists that you can go over to make sure you are fully prepared and not forgetting anything. Forgetting to pack something as simple as your underwear is more common than you think… or maybe it’s just me! :-)

Now over to you folks! If you’ll be traveling this holiday season, how do you plan on preparing for it? Are children coming along, and if so, how do you plan to keep them occupied?
