1st Day of Spring Maternity ShotEvery day while trying to find something to wear in our closet, I reminisce on the days of being pregnant, flaunting my bump in Trendy Maternity Clothes. It seems like it was so much easier for me to find something to wear when I was pregnant. Now I have a bad case of nothing fits right. Due to breastfeeding, I weigh less than what I did before I got pregnant. Yes people I am horizontally challenged and I am angry! I miss the love handles that held my jeans up without a belt and the bump that made any top look cute. Some tops that I wore weren’t even maternity tops, but the trendy ones that flared out below the bust line (some refer to these as “imperfection” tops, lol). Now I look at them and frown because I feel that the [bump], which I lack, makes the top. Even though they aren’t maternity tops, I simply can’t bring myself to wearing them. I miss wearing my maternity t-shirts with witty sayings written on them too; We’re Hungry, No Solicited Baby Advice, Best Days Of My Life, Pregzilla and many more :-(. It just feels like my pregnancy just flew by, probably because I was halfway through before even realizing I was pregnant.

Shopping for maternity pants was a big disappointment. If I want my maternity jeans to fit and not be soggy in the booty, I have to shop in specialty stores by specific name brand. I got through my pregnancy wearing a SwellyBelly and Bella Band over ordinary unbuttoned jeans. When jeans weren’t comfortable, I wore yoga and athletic pants.

It would be nice to have a pair or two of maternity jeans that actually fit next time around. It sucks that I can’t find my size under the $100 price range. These are some that I’m currently admiring.

They are a bit pricey, but at the rate that I’m growing (a very slow one), I’ll be able to wear them throughout all future pregnancies to come. So they will be worth the investment.

Maybe by the time baby #2 makes his/her appearance, I’ll be able to fit Old Navy’s maternity jeans. In my dreams, Bah Humbug!
