Disney’s looking for an influential and diverse group of moms, dads, and grandparents to be a part of their 2009 Moms Panel. The program was such a great success last year that it will expand from its inaugural 12 members to 16. Parents selected to the panel will receive a complimentary 5-night, 6-day vacation to Walt Disney World for four people to help prepare for this program. The trip will take place from December 5th(two days after my birthday)-9th, 2008.
Applications will be taken from 10:00 am Eastern Daylight Time on September 8, 2008 through midnight Eastern Daylight Time September 19, 2008 or when they have reached 20,000 applicants, whichever comes first. Click here to apply!
VERY IMPORTANT RULE: Parents must be familiar with Walt Disney World® Resort and have visited at least once in the last 12 months. – This is the rule that disqualified me, I am C R U S H E D to the GRAIN! Someone please come sweep me off the floor!
If I weren’t disqualified and were chosen to be on the panel, I’d bring Daddy, Boogie, and my mother because she really needs a vacation. She hasn’t any time for herself since she took in my aunt who has too many medical conditions to even list. She’s senile and spiteful, and I’m really being nice putting it this way. She’s more than a handful and that’s all I will say. If I say more, I’d end up writing a novel. Maybe another day…
Sooo anyway I decided to reminisce on the first and last time I went to Walt Disney World. I was part of the high school band and we had a chance to go and work behind the scenes with some of the Disney musicians in May of 2003. Thank goodness for that discounted rate, otherwise I’d still be wondering what Walt Disney World looks like! Below is a little collage of some of the pictures and items I held on to. Hopefully I’ll be able to start a new Disney album in the next few years.
(By the way, interested in attending Disney On Ice this year? You can save some money with a special Disney On Ice discount code!)

Bummer. Sorry you can’t go to Disney… well, for free. They don’t know what they’re missing! And, I might add, I think it’s a fab idea for them to diversify their mom panel, but I hope the rule about visiting within the last year doesn’t disqualify the very folks they want to help “diversify” their mom line-up. Next time, sweet potato–next time!

You look so cute in that photo! Disney looks like loads of fun. I am sorry to hear about that 12 month rule. I was reading the panel q & a and those folks really know Disney!

Aw, that’s too bad! Maybe next year?
They really should let you apply I know you guys would have a blast with Boogie. I haven’t been to Disney World since gradeschool but will be going on a trip there in the near future. I’m really interested to see all of the changes.
If you love Disney I just bought a great book I think you’ll enjoy. It’s called “The Hidden Magic of Disney” by Susan Veness. I’m planning a trip to Disney for my family this winter and I bought this book. It’s got tons of secret facts about Disney and it walks you through all the attractions so it doubles as a guide to the park. My kids (8 and 10 yrs old) love learning about all of the secrets, it’s making them even more excited for the trip!
I would definitely recommend this book for your next trip to Disney…I hope it happens soon!
