I’m Not Having Any More…
Scrapped by Mommy on August 20, 2008If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn't want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! Thanks for visiting!
Daddy and I attempted to get our sleeping back on track (we’re night owls) by going to bed at 8PM the other day, but Jayden was not having it. He started to fuss in the middle of the night. He’s teething, did I mention that? We brought him in the living room for new scenery. After teething pellets, teether and finger gnawing (ouch), and snuggling, he finally calmed down and went back to sleep. Around 8AM the next morning the little booger was at it again. Back to the living room.
While rocking Jayden in the recliner I had a revelation… I’m not having any more children. I mean how can I possibly have a house full of children and get any work online done? Oh wait but having more kiddies means I’ll have little helpers, that’s how parents survive having two, three, four, or more children. But wait, more helpers means more mouths to feed and more boo boos to nurture. Hmmm there’s the possibility of being discovered and becoming famous. Then I wouldn’t have to get on the computer unless it was for entertainment or to pay a bill. I’ll have to have them in multiples though. If I had the babies one by one, we would be called crazy and no one would have pity on us, hell I wouldn’t either. So say we tried for baby number two and were blessed with twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, or hey even septuplets?!
Until we win the Mega Million Lotto or similar we will not be this family…

Ok so it doesn’t take 81 million dollars to provide for 8 children.
I love watching this family. Sure, their situation is different. They tried for baby number three and got one, plus five extras! And they were fortunate enough to be discovered, which I’m sure is a huge financial help.
One bad night had me bouncing from one thought to another. Of course one bad night won’t keep me from having another one of these little guys in the future…
…but today’s economy may. To think my grandparents had TEN - back when things were easier.

I have felt your pain. The first time was when i was pushing 1st child out. There was a horrible buring pain and I thought “I’m NEVER doing this again.” but as so as he was out I thought” I can do this at least once more. The second time was when 2nd baby was horribly colic. I was stationed (crying all the while), upright, in the gliding rocker for about 4 months. When ever her blues went away I knew I wanted another :o) . DH’s grandparents had 14 (no mulitples !) , as much as I want another I can’t imagine 14. The Duggars’ are on baby #18 due in January ‘09.

After my little one, I proudly claim I am not having any more. That little boy wears me out.

Oh, I am so hearing you on this! Mostly the pregnancy and delivery part of things has helped me to decide that Baby is our last (or decided for me, since my uterus was about to rupture). However, there are just THOSE kind of days and nights that make one wonder WTF! There is only so much one person can take. Each needs to know her limit!

I must be a nut cause I would have another in a minute! Shh, don’t tell Dwayne though! I love John & Kate plus 8 but you know they get a lot of “stuff” for having all those kids for sure! Nobody feels sorry for those that have them one after the other.
Just remember that the baby stages are very short and you will get back to normal soon enough. The online industry awaits you!

I had my son at 31 and my daughter at 35. The time between them really did fade the memories of the sleepless nights and the teething, but even before my daughter was born we thought we might have 3, and with how difficult she was as a newborn, we decided to stop at 2.
Occasionally now that she is almost 9 months old I have little twinges of “that wasn’t so bad” but luckily there is no going back for us. There cannot be any more without surgery!

This post makes me laugh!!! I know how you feel one bad night and you think “i”m done!!!!” but I realize soon that when our daughter was about 10 months that I was missing the baby stages!!!!
And yap 1 month later baby #2 was on the way!!!! For about finance we try to save on everything from clothes to breastfeeding to Ecing to growing our own food! It’s not always easy but it’s sure fun!!!!
My inlaws have 12 children so my youngest sister in law will be turning 6 today!!!! and they are not rich by the stander of economy by rich in value and else!!! How do they survives!!! Lots of potato and bread to live on (there Dutch after all) owning their own business (family bakery) and everybody helps!!!!
I love living close to them cause the little ones are always willing to entertain mine and the older one to give a hand around!!! It’s a nice community feeling!!!!

The teething thing is definitely tough. We were actually worried about my daughter because it happened so late. When she finally did start, she got seven at once! But it passed and we do want another kid now!
PS-have you tried the frozen washcloth thing?

My daughter is 2 1/2 and we’re not having any more anytime soon as I am a young mom. Maybe in a few years or so, if ever…! I’d say see how you feel in about a year about having more kids. Survivng the first year is one of the hardest parts. You might feel alot different by that time, who knows?
