Jeremy, the author of one of my favorite blogs, Discovering Dad, is taking part in Blogging Idol! Blogging Idol is sort of like American Idol for bloggers. Actually, come to think of it, Blogging Idol is nothing like American Idol, except for the part where you win something at the end. In Blogging Idol, bloggers compete to increase their readership over the course of a month. The blogger with the largest increase in subscribers wins $3,000 and bragging rights as the Blogging Idol.
So why should Jeremy win this thing? Jeremy is one of the most passionate guys about fatherhood I know. It all shows in his writing on his blog, Discovering Dad. At Discovering Dad, dads are shone in a positive light. Discovering Dad doesn’t enforce the typical stereotypes of fathers, such as not being involved in their childrens’ lives. There are many, many dads out there that play a HUGE role in their childrens’ lives in many aspects, and Jeremy’s Spotlight on Dads series illustrates this fact well. Jeremy is an awesome writer, and continually puts out engaging content that prompts reader interaction. His What Dads Think series, What Moms Think series, and especially his heartwrenching tale of the premature birth of his daughter, Caitlin, are perfect examples. He’s an all around great guy, and if you ask me, he’s already a blogging idol in my eyes.
Jeremy is taking part in Blogging Idol to increase exposure and readership on Discovering Dad, and I support him, as he’s an excellent role model on fatherhood. Wow! I am both humbled and thankful for this write-up Greg. I truly appreciate everything you said, and it inspires me to do even more. I love ya’lls blog too, and I really have enjoyed reading about your experiences throughout the pregnancy and first few months with Boogie. He’s got some special parents!
