Jayden’s 2 Month Dr. Visit
Scrapped by Mommy on June 30, 2008If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn't want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! Thanks for visiting!
Today was Jayden’s 2 month visit with the pediatrician. He received some vaccines and will continue them, but with few being administered at a time. Next time we see a pediatrician, we’ll be living in a new area, so we’ll have to find one that will work with us. I’m dreading this. I can’t say that I’m not uneasy about vaccinating, but I would be if we chose not to. I really hope something is done about today’s vaccines soon to make them more natural. It’s too much on the parents who have to make such tough decisions and then on the children who are just totally helpless.
Jayden did so well today. I expected him to scream like I’ve never heard him scream before. There are times where he doesn’t want his diaper changed and he cries. That was the same cry he let out when getting his shots. He was very easy to console. After Daddy gave him a few hugs, I nursed him, and almost instantly the crying stopped. When we got home, I gave him a small dose of baby Tylenol just in case of fever, nursed him some more, and let him play in his bouncer. He’s napping now and I’ve been watching him closely like a hawk.
How could I forget to mention Jayden’s growth? He weighs 12lbs 2oz. I know I said he was 12lbs 6oz, but I read our scale at home wrong (don’t ask). He’s about 23 inches long. He’s in the 50th percentile for length and head circumference (we keep forgetting to get the measurement, they quickly write it down without mentioning it). As for his weight, he’s in the 75th percentile, making him a Happy Panda!
The pediatrician said to keep applying the Eucerin on Jayden’s eczema, but I’m going to try some shea butter instead.
Below is a montage from the visit at the doctor’s office and then after Jayden had bouncer time. The last video in this montage should have been longer. I don’t know what happened. Luckily Daddy was recording using his camera at the same time I was using mine. His is much more exciting, but it will probably take HOURS to upload!
Below is the video that I recorded while typing the previous post. He was having a ball! He loves that bouncer to bits!

Awww, Jayden looks so happy and content. He is getting so big!!I used to hate when my kids were babies and got shots. I think I cried more than them. Except for my youngest, she never cried once during shots. I wish you good luck finding a new doctor when you move, that decision can be really tough.

What a happy and healthy baby boy! Way to grow
Raw shea butter worked wonders for ETot’s eczema. I also incorporated omega oil supplements into my diet which seemed to benefit him greatly while he was nursing. My pediatrician was shocked at how rapidly the combination of those 2 things healed his eczema (it was pretty bad previously)

Doing the shea butter will be so much better!!! He is so stinkin’ cute!! We don’t vaccinate. But I can’t wait for them to come up with some “greener” vaccines for those who choose to vaccinate. It’s good that you’re spacing them out:)

Awww! The shots are so hard, aren’t they?! We use AquaPhor on the skin and that works well, too. J is so cute! Great job, mommy and daddy!

I love the video in the bouncer!
We debated about vaccines for our daughter because she reacted really badly to her 2 month shots. In the end we decided to go ahead with them but on a delayed schedule.
Also, my daughter had severe eczema and it turned out a lot of it was being caused by the laundry detergent. We switched from Dreft to Shaklee and she only has flare ups now if she is exposed to the carpet (cleaned with chemicals 8 months ago) or if someone who uses regular getergent holds her for a long time.

Cute. Cute. Cute ALL DAY LONG! So glad you all are finding a solution for the vaccines. Each parent has to do what they feel is best for their own child. I never thought of shea butter. *smacks across forehead* I’m going to try Yolanda’s suggestion as well
