A Good Time To Shop For Halloween Costumes!
If you’re new here, please consider subscribing to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! If you are looking for exposure during the holiday rush, considering purchasing a Top Spot on our sidebar! Thanks for visiting!
I know it’s a little early to be talking about halloween costumes but I’ve been anticipating Halloween ever since I discovered that Daddy and I were pregnant. Daddy and I feel that once you grow up, holidays get boring. When children are in the picture, it’s like enjoying childhood all over again. I probably mentioned it before, but I’ll mention it again. Daddy and I would occasionally shop for our little one(s) years before Jayden. If we saw something cute, we’d pick it up.
We have accumulated bins of children’s clothing aka “the baby stash”. In those bins are a few Halloween costumes. We have a choice between a pumpkin and a chili pepper. The pumpkin costume will be too large for Jayden by October, but the chili pepper costume should fit just right. Since we already have a costume for him, we’re going to put it to some use, however I can’t stop obsessing over other kids costumes that I have seen. I have a thing for lions. If there is a lion on it, Jayden has to have it, especially if “ROAR” is written on it. Saying “ROAR” like how Cedric The Entertainer said it on one of his stand ups cracks me up. So Jayden just may be a chili pepper and a lion this Halloween, maybe even a Tootsie Roll, lol. Ok maybe we’ll save the Tootsie Roll for next year.
Right now is a good time to shop for Halloween costumes. Since the season is over, they’re on super sale. During the Halloween season sometimes they are marked above retail simply because the demand is high. Right now costumes are marked over 50% off at BuyCostumes.com. You don’t want to miss out!

Skyrocket your sales!

I already have a full dinosaur costume for Will. Well, more like for next year. I love the lion suit though! We have a stuffed lion that was given to us at the baby shower and it is as big as my hubby! LOL!! When Chardie was a baby she was a “pea in a pod” It was sooo cute! I now Jayden will look adorable in whatever you decide.

Oh, now this is a good idea. Nothing worse than trying to last minute shop for baby costumes for Halloween. If you wait till the last minute, you always end up with junk.

Do multiple costumes- as cute as you possibly can. The cute costume age for a boy is so fleeting and some of my favorite pictures of my boys are of their early costumes. We didn’t even go anywhere for Halloween just stuck them in costumes for pics. The same goes for my Easter costumes (EBoy was the cutest bunny EVER!)

Hi, really like your ‘full-service’ site! At least you folks are following through with your plans to celebrate the festival with the new member of he family. We too had figured that, after we had a child, we’d make it more of a point to observe festivals and so forth. But we got so caught up in the nitty-gritty of parenting (Sonny was born April 22 - a couple of days before your ‘un!), we clean forgot about the great Dumpling Festival (normally celebrated by the making of, you guessed it, glutinous rice dumplings) until the big day had passed.
Sigh: Guess the first year shouldn’t matter too much anyway.

My daughter hated her first Halloween costume (Winnie the Pooh), she just hated it. Didn’t want to put it on at all. We managed to get a few pictures, but only a few. Two years later and she’s all about the holiday and completely ready with her costume (Cinderella). Over at UnSpun, where they’re asking for people to vote on top Halloween costumes for kids, a Ghost costume is currently the most popular for kids, but who knows if that will last as the day gets closer.
