It’s 4AM in the morning and I’m wide awake. Why? Because Jayden’s wide awake. I’m pretty sure I mentioned this before, but just in case anyone missed it, Jayden’s sleeping patterns are backwards. He sleeps throughout the day for the most part, but as soon as 2AM rolls around, he’s wide awake and kickin’! And he’ll stay woke until around 7AM. Usually Mommy would take the “night shift” while I sleep since I have to work during the day, but I decided to stay up with him tonight.
So just a few minutes ago Jayden and I were both lying in bed, and I was telling Mommy about how my mother told me that he rolled over on his own while we were in Chicago. I wanted to see if he would do it again for Mommy and I. So I put him on his stomach to see if he could roll over to his back. After fidgeting around for a bit, he used his left arm to push his body up a little. I was thinking, “This is it! He’s going to roll over!” So to give him some encouragement, I said to him, “Come on, Jayden, you can do it!” At this point he’s still pushing himself over with his left arm and he’s completely on his right side now. He’s halfway there!
“You can do it! Push, Jayden! Push!“
And that’s when it happened…
PFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTBRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!
He let out one of the loudest, wettest, most glass shattering, earth shaking farts he’s ever produced!
I guess that’s what I get for telling him to push!
Update: We’re receiving word that they’re feeling aftershocks of his fart all the way in Australia!

Lol. This was pretty funny. Just wait, this won’t be the last story of this type. My two year old just figured out farts are funny. He loves it.

That is too funny!! It’s amazing that those little bitty bodies can ripe one that loud! It doesn’t get better the older they get…I’ve got an 8 year old…I would know!

Trust me, it doesn’t matter how small or how cute they are. My daughter has always had some loud gas from both ends. Just today when I got home from work she was giggling in my face, burped like a grown man, and then continued to giggle like a little girl (she’s 1).

Bwahaha. That’s a boy for you! Ryan was, and still is, the same way! I never recall Alyssa being that gassy and quick to let one or a few rip.
About the sleep thing: Ryan was the same way a few days after birth. Only in his case, his wake time was anywhere between 9pm-11pm. It was killing me, and by keeping him stimulated longer and then putting him down for naps and sleep time sooner I was able to slowly shift him around so that he was getting up at nine in the MORNING, rather than at NIGHT!
