Never Lose A Password Due To Mommy Brain Again!

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! Thanks for visiting!

The winner of this giveaway is announced at the bottom of this post.

Internet Password OrganizerWhen it comes to internet passwords, what are your methods for keeping track of them? Sometimes it’s easy to use the same password for each account that you own. At times that is impossible. Sometimes your password won’t pass the security requirements because of repetitive characters, not enough characters, or not enough numbers. The list goes on. How frustrating is that? I tend to get out of these battles by tossing x’s in various spots of my passwords, but then this makes them hard to remember…

Quite a few websites provide garbled passwords when you sign up for accounts that you are unable to change. As of now, I still haven’t figured out how to change my StumbleUpon password. For a while I kept clicking “forgot password”. The same went for my domain registrar accounts. I wrote these passwords down on scraps and sticky notes, but of course I kept losing them each time I cleaned up my workspace.

The Internet Password Organizer is a useful way to safely and securely store all of your passwords. 122 reinforced tabbed pages provide instant access to login credentials. Each page is set up kind of like an address book but provides space to record web page, username, password, and notes. I like to use my Internet Password Organizer primarily to record my domain registrar and hosting accounts as well as affiliate program logins. As of late I’ve been forgetting my usernames to accounts since some of my account usernames were also created randomly. So Internet Password Organizer has helped me out with remembering my usernames as well.

Towards the back of the Internet Password Organizer there’s a bonus section that provides space for writing down internet service provider and home network information as well as software license information and additional notes pertaining to your computer. It would have helped if I had this book when I set up my mother’s home wireless network a few years ago. I wrote the details down on a piece of paper and now I don’t remember the network password needed to login. The password is stored on my laptop but if I get a new laptop or someone else needed to use their laptop in her house, they won’t be able to since I forgot the password. Eventually I’m going to have to reconfigure everything and this time write the password down in my Internet Password Organizer.

Interested in what the inside of an Internet Password Organizer looks like? Take a look inside. As a safety precaution I suggest that Internet Password Organizer be locked up in the home office for safe keeping.

April is National Autism Awareness Month. In honor of National Autism Awareness Month, Innovention Lab, Inc. will be donating $1 to Autism Speaks for each Internet Password Organizer purchased from internetpasswordorganizer.com. For every thousand books sold Innovention Lab, Inc will also donate an additional $1,000.

That sounds all great and dandy, but what happens if you lose that organizer? Then some stranger has complete access to every account you had recorded. :-/

Tina, feel free to share your ideas for storing passwords.

  3. 1stopmomNo Gravatar, April 18, 2008:

OMG, I would benefit so much from this organizer. We have at computers and tons of passwords. At least 10 years of passwords!! There are my passwords, my hubby’s, and the kids. It is so hard for me to keep track of. And of course being “mommy” I need to keep up with everyone’s passwords. It is just not for sites I visit for fun but passwords for our bills since 99.9% of them are paid online. It is a great idea to have all the passwords in one centralized location.

I’d love to win this! We have tons of passwords between the two of us and they keep growing every day with the million social networking sites that keep popping up on a daily basis! It’s hard to keep up! This would definitely help. And yes, of course, it’d have to be locked up in your home office or safe if you have one.

    :crossing my fingers: ;)

Have so many passwords that this will make things a breeze - won’t forget one again!

  6. KeishaNo Gravatar, April 18, 2008:

That book looks cool can we win it ?
Our accounts & passwords are written in an old raggedy, unattractive journal with pages falling out :)
But I do use various codes to keep our info safe:
This is one Example: #1234567 Atty. = Me=My evil cat

That means the account number for AT&T my login name BigKeisha9 and the password is 1muhammed1.

The code might look crazy but I want it to. My hope is that if a stranger came across the info (in my new sophisticated IPO that I won from the Mommy Daddy Blog ) they wouldn’t be able to figure it out.

P.S. I tried to teach my husband but he just wasn’t interested ; I told him he’s going to up a creek without a paddle if I die. But maybe he’d be inspired by a spiffy new Internet Password Organizer with 122 reinforced tabbed pages. Just a thought. :)

  7. GinaNo Gravatar, April 18, 2008:

What a great idea and a nice cause for some proceeds to go to.

The organizer would benefit us so much, between me and Rodney and Lyric now going on the internet, we have so many passwords its hard to remember what is what and what websites actually have us signed up at with passwords.

The worst was when Rodney’s laptop got stolen, he had a lot of our ‘major’ passwords saved on that computer and we had to run around remember where and what passswords were for which websites and how many websites we were signed up at etc etc, something like this would have saved us a lot of worry and time because we could have just gone thru the list to change the passwords as needed.

This is a great idea. Our passwords (or some of mine at least) are scribbled in an old notebook, but there are many that aren’t in there, or I forget to organize and write down. I would love a special place where the whole family could keep this stuff organized!

  9. I definitely need one of these for all the sites I’m always logging into. Great giveaway, thanks!

Greetings! I have the very problem you just discussed. Trying to keep my internet passwords, user name, etc. can drive me crazy if I let it!!!!! I jot them in different notepads, on a sticky note and then can’t find them when I can’t enter a site. Please enter me in your delightful drawing. I appreciate it. Thanks,Cindi

Knowing me, I’d probably leave the book at Starbucks or something. I have a pretty good system that works for me. I have 3 passwords. Level 1 is a password I use for low security stuff (social networks, etc.), level 2 is a password I use if there’s ever a chance of me sharing it (like a job-related login). Level 3 is a high security password that I use for accounts that are money related. With this method, I know there are only 3 possible passwords I could ever have.

I hate to admit this (but I bet I’m not the only one)…most of my passwords are exactly the same. From online banking to apartmenttherapy.com - some variation, but basically the same. This book would help b/c I could change some without forgetting them!

  19. ShaneNo Gravatar, April 19, 2008:

For years I”ve used index cards and a file box. I list the website name at the top of the card and the sign in name and password below. I then file them alphabetically by website name. It’s a little archaic, but it works. This hand dandy book would actually bring me into this century for storing my vital web info. Count me in. Thanks!

I work part-time while the kids are in school, and then rush around home on the farm with my DH trying to keep things organized, and woops! happens all too often. I need this organizer, and would really enjoy being able to keep life a little more “together”.
P.S. I just found your blog today and I think y’all are doing a great job here!

  24. jenniNo Gravatar, April 19, 2008:

A few months ago my computer had to be repaired and I was on my dh’s computer. Guess what? I couldn’t get into half the places I normally go because I couldn’t remember the passwords and they were all on my computer. Boy could I use this book. I shudder to think what would have happened if the computer had died altogether. Yikes!

I am terrible with passwords so this would help out so much! I’ve been wanting one for so long. I have tried organizing passwords in a notebook but it gets so messy. Another reason I want is in case my husband ever needs to get into anything like banks, paypal, ebay, etc I would feel more secure knowing my family could get into my accounts if something ever happened.

I would LOVE this! I would benefit from it because it would keep me soo much more organized…of course, a PLUS..but also because then I am more apt to use different passwords for different places and not similar ones…which prevents people from getting into my accounts.

I hate the sites that won’t let you pick your own generic easy to use password. I use the same password for everything unless it’s something like the bank or email, then I use a stronger random password that I’ve memorized. I hate when I register for a site and use my generic password like, for example, “hippo” and it says “too short” so I make it “hippo55″ then another site tells me “hippo55″ is too short so I have to make it “hippo555″ but it doesn’t like 3 5s so I have to do “hippo567.” Then some sites make you do a capital letter as well. So I have “Hippo567.” So when I visit the site again I’m sitting there typing in 10 different hippo passwords all ticked off wondering why I didn’t write it down! Gosh could I use this!

It seems like every web page I try to access requires that you sign up and create a paaword. Having this organizer would save me so much time and aggrivation. I feel like I am constantly hitting the “send me my password” link.
