36th Week Update + Dr. Visit

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Mommy Daddy Blog. We wouldn't want you to miss out on our updates or giveaways ;-)! Thanks for visiting!

April 10th marked 36 weeks for me. Sorry I’m late but I’ve just been overwhelmed with things. Thanks, Daddy, for picking the Crocheted Sunflower Infant Hat Giveaway Winner while I was fast asleep!

We had another dr’s appointment Tuesday, the 8th. The midwife checked my cervix and Jayden’s head has dropped low. I’m going to say that he dropped between week 34-35 because that’s when I started to feel the additional pressure. It’s definitely much harder to walk now, I waddle more, and there’s more pressure on my back, legs, and feet. I’m running to the bathroom more than ever too. I can’t even sleep through the night! I go potty at least 6 times each night! Oh and about that heartburn that’s supposed to go away…it didn’t.

I have found that I am addicted to lime flavored and scented products. They are Edy’s Lime Fruit Bars, Blessed Nest Sour Lime/Ginger Lip Balm, and Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena body cream and splash. I didn’t even realize my addiction until I clung to the Coconut Lime Verbena. If you have something lime, send it my way!

Oh this reminded me of something funny my nutritionist asked me Monday:

Nutritionist: Have you had any non-food cravings?
Me: Huh?
Nutritionist: Have you been craving to eat items that aren’t food? We had one lady come in here that ate dryer lint.
Me: *laughs out loud* UH NO, I haven’t wanted to eat anything but food. *laughs out loud*
Nutritionist: Hey it’s possible, pregnant women have strange cravings.
Me: *snickers*

After reading B.Y.O.Gown - The Girlie Variety at The Opinionated Parent, I am disgusted at the thought of using an hospital gown, lol. I wish I didn’t read the post BUT if you continue to read you’ll find that they are giving away a Girlie Gown! How innovative and stylish! My favorite pattern is the black and white Modern Mummy. It’s wise to choose the darkest since there’s going to be mess involved, lol. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be the winner of the giveaway!

The weather is just starting to get warmer and I bought a new lens, tripod, and other things for my camera, so I’ll be sure to update with more pictures. Expect more product reviews and giveaways as well. Until next time!

You know what, now that I think about it I know some people who have had strange addictions during pregnancy. One person who will remain nameless like to eat baking soda. Always kept a little box with her. Another nameless loved one ate cornstarch during the entire time. I did not have any strange addictions. I just feel in love with things I never ate before. Before I was pregnant with my son, I hated pizza so much. I must have eaten it only 4-5 times my entire life. When I was pregnant, I had to have it every day. And to this day I have to eat it once a week

    The lime addiction is cute!!

I’m ashamed to tell you that i had some VERY weird addictions whilst preggo. I used to crave dirty (Okay I told you it was weird!)Anyway, my OB said I wasn’t the only preggo he encountered with that craving but seriously advised against taking myself up on it. Uhhhhh, like I really planned on stuffing my mouth with dirty. lol

Anyway, sounds like your pregnancy is moving nicely :)

I saw the Girlie Gown too. Honestly though, I didn’t mind the hospital ones. With all the disgusting heavy bleeding I had going on the whole time I was in with Deeder I don’t think I’d want to wear something nice…
of course for pictures it might have been nice to not look so lousy, but that was more me than the gown!
in the bathroom they always had two clean gowns that I could change into. it wasn’t bad at all.

The lime addiction sounds cool. :)
That craving non-food things is weird, huh. I’d like to meet someone who really eats lint. that’s totally weird.

I’ve heard of the non-food cravings but never had any.

    pica 2 |?p?k?| noun Medicine
a tendency or craving to eat substances other than normal food (such as clay, plaster, or ashes), occurring during childhood or pregnancy, or as a symptom of disease.

I did crave weird foods like once I wanted a taco with mayonnaise and grape jelly. I have no idea what THAT was about but I didn’t eat it. Lol.
