Healthy Harvest Penne Rigate In the Mommy Daddy household, we eat lots of pasta. If you were to open our cupboards you’d find that they are packed with linguine, rotini, and rigate, our favorites. On a recent trip to the grocery store, I attempted to place whole grain rigate into our basket. I’m a whole grain fanatic and thought it would be great to have since we’re both trying to eat healthier. BUT, Daddy has this thing with wheat products, he refuses to eat them. So of course he “ew’d” at the whole grain pasta that I wanted to try. This resulted in me walking away from the whole grain rigate with my bottom lip poked out and a plan to sneak the pasta into the basket next time when Daddy isn’t looking.

Ronzoni must have received a signal from me because they were kind enough to offer us some boxes of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Penne Rigate to try! And guess what? Daddy loves it! Whole grain pasta tastes no different than traditional pasta, but it’s so hard to convince Daddy when it comes to the “brown” stuff. Thing is, Ronzoni Healthy Harvest lightens in color when cooked so naysayers won’t even notice! Daddy’s definitely preparing me for the battle I have ahead with JT. Hopefully he won’t be as picky as his Daddy!

Ronzoni Healthy Harvest’s whole grain pastas were introduced to provide more nutritious meal options. Ronzoni Healthy Harvest’s pastas contain three times more fiber than traditional pasta and is an excellent source of Omega-3!

In honor of Leap Day (February 29th), also the last day of Heart Health Month, Ronzoni decided to offer all Americans a free box of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest to encourage families to take a leap towards healthier eating. This is a GREAT giveaway. My roommate and I decided to cut white flour from our diet for a month, and we were discussing wheat pasta (we eat spaghetti once a week.)

THIS would be a perfect way for us to try it, and see if we love it just as much!

Thank you for offering this!

Healthy Harvest was the first one I tried and I’ve been hooked for years. I can barely eat “regular” pasta anymore.

Mr. Anti-nutrition himself (my stepson) even eats it.

I love to get a healthier alternative in front of my family. After all, they eat what I cook!

Okay, I had initially wrote this in your “reminder” blog but when I re-read it, it said to enter on this entry so i’ll copy and paste it here.

Here’s why I would like to try Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta:

I was recently diagnosed with Diabetes Type-2. I’m on a medication called “Metformin” (which is also called Glucophage) to control my insulin level. Having type-2 diabetes is the result of my body making too much insulin and storing excess fat. That makes me overweight. I’m trying to keep my eatting habits good to keep my insulin levels under control and to lose weight. I know that whole wheat products are way better than the traditional “white” things such as white bread, pasta, etc.

I love pasta dishes and it’s hard not to be able to have things like that. I haven’t been able to try whole wheat pasta yet. I didn’t even know it existed! Now that I know, i’d love to try it! It feels good to be able to know that they have healthy choices in things like that for people like myself. I could whip something up really delicious with Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta and some ground turkey burger. Yum!
